Nah, even though promotionally speaking LHW is a significantly more attractive division on the level of pure spectacle, 145 always has more fighters than 205. That simply would not be the case if 205 had a deeper talent pool to draw from than 145, so, clearly, even when soccer is factored in the fact that the average American/Brazilian man is far closer to FW size than LHW size to begin with means 145 is still a deeper talent pool.
Nobody with any credibility disputes that the heavier divisions are much shallower. Even former HW Frank Mir has said it's far easier to get to the top in the heavier classes than at FW, LW and WW, and nobody has more invested in pumping up HWs than the HWs themselves, so it's always weird/adorable when deluded fanboys try to make that argument.
I mean, the fact you attempted this goofy spin and yet conveniently left out basketball, the second largest sport on the planet, shows you're either a goober who doesn't have the slightest clue regarding how any of this works or you're a goober who is only interested in bringing some kind of fake news. I don't know which kind of goober you are. I don't really care either. Fact is you're empirically, objectively, scientifically wrong either way.
Wrong again.
"While as many as 1,900 players will play in the tournaments this year, over 26 million Americans play basketball (according to the SGMA's U.S. Trends in Team Sports research). 15.5 million people play casual/pick-up basketball. 4.1 million play in organized leagues. 5.8 million play on a school or college team."
Top 10 most popular sports in the world.
1.Soccer
2.Cricket
3.Field Hockey
4.Tennis
5.VolleyBall
6.Table Tennis
7.Baseball
8.Golf
9.*BasketBall*
9.American Football
As you can see the large majority of the popular sports do not involve HW's.
Now the reason why its harder in lower weight classes is because they are more athletic, but it would be foolish if we are going to pretend that MMA has the most athletic FW's in the world when that is the weight class that is competing for athletes with the most popular sport in the world.
Please name me Aldo's 5 best wins, and then tell me if those fighters are ao much better than Cain, JDS, Overeem, Werdum, Stipe.
