How much in sale taxes have been lost to people shopping on amazon?

I worry about Amazon's effect on the economy... but Bezos could buy Trump's ass and get change back.

Why would that be? But don't act like it is a all gain and no loss. An example is if you add 1000 jobs, but kill business that put 2000 people out of jobs, it is a net loss not gain. I don't think we have all that data.
Look at all the smaller stores that Wal-Mart killed, yet they employ many people, but you cannot be an adult and think that no jobs were lost in that.

Now, what I do see is that Amazon is very cutting edge in automation and reducing the number of jobs



Look at this for example, all Cyberdyne shit instead of real human beings working a warehouse. Amazon also is trying to do drone deliveries as well. If this well full across america well say goodbye to fedex and ups delivery men jobs.

Now, whether one says well just stop progress, remember a poster said this was great about all these jobs being created. I am saying not so fucking fast with the champagne bottles and breast milks flying around.

I understand automation can lead to job loss but it's weird to reply to a company adding jobs with "well the economy lost some cause of them". Automation is a long term good despite the labor displacement it causes in the short term. It frees up people to do more. In 1900, I'm sure it got scary the first few decades that farming was becoming more efficient and less farmers were needed. We went from 90% agricultural labor to under 5%. It was a good thing. Society and government just had to navigate through the short term issues it causes.
