Things Right Wingers Thought was Un Presidential under Obama

Let's not forget

Back when Greta Van Susteren had a job and it was at Fox, she took Obama to task for some mild criticism of her employer by President Obama: "I don't think that a president should ever look unpresidential and get into a food fight." She had then-Republican House Whip Eric Cantor on to declare that this was beyond the pale. Of course, in the same October 2009 segment, talking about the possiblity of Obama going on a certain Fox show, Van Susteren said, laughably, "You know, not in a million years do I think Sean Hannity would be disrespectful."

Kellyanne Conway on Hannity's Hategasm Jizzorama: "I always find it to be so undignified and so unpresidential for President Obama to pick on what he considers to be right-wing media. You're the president of the United States. Go destroy ISIS and get millions of women out of extreme poverty, please. That's your day job." When did she say that? A little over a year ago. June 3, 2016. And she still hasn't burst into flames from the methane of her own bullsh*t.

CNN literally dedicated two seperate 45 minute segments to the fact that 1.) Trump eats fried chicken with a fork, and 2.) Trump got two scoops of ice cream somewhere while all of his aides only took one.

This is just a small sample of what they thought was un presidential when Obama was President.

1. I must have missed the tan suit thing. Maybe somebody said it at some time, but this was not a major right wing criticism of Obama. In fact, I remember David Brooks writing an op-ed that made the point that Obama's wardrobe and grooming were exquisitely presidential. I think that was more par for the course.

2. Overall, this seems like a run of the mill expose on how partisanship affects our perceptions. We judge the other team harshly and ourselves leniently. Sometimes I think it is a good thing, because there is a balance. It's better and induces less complacency than all being on the same side and judging everyone leniently. But it can be obviously negative in that too often we simply don't judge by the facts but by the side we are on.

3. In this particular case, I think Obama was a rather presidential president. The same was true of George W. I'm sure minor flaws in his personal conduct could be pointed out here and there, but this was a man being watched closely day by day over eight long years. Whatever one thinks of the various scandals of his administration, he had zero scandals of a personal nature. That says a lot imo and should be appreciated by both sides.

4. Trump is very unpresidential. He purposely behaves as a bull in a china shop. I think he considers his his reckless personal behavior a sort of corollary to the populist image he pushed, where he didn't care abut the delicate sensibilities and decorum surrounding majors policy issues like immigration and trade.

lol Trump and Fox complained about Obama's jeans, using Grey Poupon, and running down the stairs but get super rustled when anyone makes fun of Trumps ice cream and steaks.

Pot meet kettle.

The left does the same thing with Trump. He's fat, taco bowls, two scoops of ice cream, etc.

This thread could just as well be titled "Things left wingers gave Obama a pass for, but criticize Trump for."

Liberals find random comments on the internet or make up things they think Republicans would say as grist for their propaganda mill.

Not even remotely close to the extent Republicans did to Obama. btw When it it comes to behavior not fitting for a first lady what would the reaction be among Republicans if Michelle Obama was a ex soft core porn model and shameless gold digger like Melania? Or blatantly lied about graduating college or for example plagiarized previous first lady Laura Bush's convention speech?

Maybe I'm old fashion, but I found all the talk-shows with the President to be unprofessional. I also find random Twitter rants to be pretty damn unprofessional as well.

In my opinion the President should be more stoic. I want to see someone serious that is dealing with the issues our nation faces.
