The Worst Weather You've Experienced?

Storm at see in a 40ft catamaran. Day was dark as night. The first night trying to outrun the worst if it we broke the boom from the mast in waves bigger than houses and we had to fasten it all down, in the pitch black using radio for communication when we were further than 10ft apart.
It lasted over 48hrs and I slept, when not on shift in my harness and life jacket with my passport in my pocket to aid in identifying the body.
I vowed to give up sailing long trips and just stick to leisure shit during that first night.
I'm going on a 1000mile+ sail the end of the month. What are the chances eh, I'm sure I've seen the worst of it.
