The Ronda Rousey that fought in Strikeforce would be champ today

Compare that first picture of Ronda to what she looked like in the Holm fight, it looks like she put on 50 lbs. <Lmaoo>

WWE has her back on whatever it was, though

even if her ego and her team along with the ufc hype machines hadn't deluded her into thinking she was some master stand up artist for knocking out bethe, her downfall was always gonna happen at some point when she and her team were relying on her judo to always get the job done. even her mom was saying when she was still undefeated she should fire edmond and work with different coaches so she could learn more, as they did that when she was younger with her judo and it made her better. ronda had no interest in doing that though.

Nope she thought she could out strike holm..she said it all camp he coaches too...her coaches even told her she was doing good after the first round lmao...

Your mistaken if you think that ronda wasnt ego driven to try and outstrike holm haha.. Even the gifs you showed is ronda trying strikes not grappling...

And the point i agree wit. Is that she was broken when she faced nunes she should of not taken that fight till she was over her loss..her coaches failed her
Naw. She certainly would not refuse a td if it was there. ROnda is not a charging double leg gal. SHe needs to try and throw punches as she closes distance to set up a td or she is just allowing the other girl to tee off as Ronda has one of the worst approaches ever to close distance. HEad on center line, unmoving and plodding and slow feet.

Holly would ALWAYS be a terrible matchup for Ronda as Holly's strengths are exactly Ronda's weaknesses. Holly like Machida loves when a slow footed opponent chases her and she stick and move. SHe is a classic counter fighter and struggles in any fight where she does not face a pressure fighter.

Ronda plods in, Holly side steps and counters. Ronda looks lost as she searches with that 'where did she go look' as she gets punched or kicked in the head. This happens time and again until Ronda's confidence wains. And they she losses. Ronda has no way around that with Holly as Ronda has no way at being better at closing distance for TD's. You can look back at almost every single one of Ronda's fights and see her plodding in and eating shots to then grab her opponent and get her TD. Those opponents were, luckily for ROnda, worse at movement than Ronda was.

No no.. a striker was going to eventually catch her. She has no head movement or technique. If she can't bully her way in she was bound to be screwed.

Be a better poster. Don't just dismiss opinions you disagree with as trolling. Present a logically sound argument to the contrary, or YOU'RE the troll not me.

Add another title fight Uriah lost

Strikeforce Ronda was on all the steroids. She only started losing when she cycled off the PEDs. Look at her body when she was younger, she has that broad shouldered football player physique. Guess what you naive cunts, it is unnatural for a woman to be built like that.

What happened to Ronda is what happened to many dominant champions that suddenly stated to lose, the competition got better.
Ronda wasn't better in Strikeforce, quite the opposite.

Ronda put women mma on the map, made it possible for girls to have a career as a fighter, but at the same time the level of her opposition caught up.

Ronda was at her best in UFC. Her problem is her head she went from being a great grappler (wmma) and great oui n clinch to thinking she was this great striker............. Instead of making get to reality and tell her yes your striking is getting better but u strike when u have to get to ground.. .. Edmond encouraged striking to become her main offense which is what was her down fall. I still think if she had a legit camp like Jackson, aka, att she would likely be retired still right now but 1 loss an that would be Cyborg.
Yeah, part of the problem is Edmond is a striking coach with no ground expertise at all.

Nah. Her demise was going to happen sooner or later. She just got lucky with the level of competition at the time and being matched up with bjj/wrestlers.

I'd love to blame mike dolce tho. I am sure his diet and extreme dehydration didn't help her one bit.

I think the better argument would be that Ronda Rousey won all those fights on her own raw talent because Edmond was a complete idiot. Maybe she would've lasted longer if she didn't stick with him.
You're free to have your opinions about Ronda or basically whoever.
But NEVER speak that way of the kind and brilliant Coach Edmond. That man is an international treasure.

Nunes kills any version of Ronda
FWIW, Nunes got finished/beat by several fighters who Ronda finished like Cat Zingano, Alexis Davis, Sarah D'Alelio. Which suggests that Ronda would have beat her at some point before she got better and Ronda got worse. Nunes literally got finished by Cat right before Cat got destroyed in 14 seconds by Ronda.

Think about it

The Rousey we saw late in her UFC run was a shell of the Ronda we saw in her early run in Strikeforce
The contrasts are many, but the major ones are
Shape

29OdQB4

and Aura
RONDA-CAGE-640.jpg

in the UFC she was out of shape, and she quickly lost her Aura when Uriah Faber almost RNC'd her in the first round. People forgot about it, but it made her human
And from there the cracks began to show
Without either of these things she was a sitting duck for fighters like Nunes and Holms

but lets think about this
Holm is an overrated point fighter whose crowning achievement is upsetting Unmotivated Ronda, and since then has been a disappointment

and Nunes, who would be her toughest test for sure, is a fighter with poor cardio
And in shape Ronda ready to go for 25 minutes I believe

discuss

and please be respectful
Not that kid again.

I don't think so.

Its the same story with a lot of fighters. She didn't evolve much with her techniques and other camps figured how to beat her.
Yup. Royce Gracie would still be on top if no one figured out how to counter BJJ. But you need to do more than just figure it out, you also need the skill to not let them impose their game.

Damian Maia is a better version of Royce but even he struggled with the very top guys when he could no longer impose his td's and game.

People automatically think he is becoming K1 Maia and that Ronda simply wanted to strike. But against the very top people you simply cannot be one dimensional. If you pose zero striking threat, then the opponent NEVER has to worry about your hands and can focus 100% on tdd and that makes them MORE effective in avoiding the TD. The only way to make them less effective is to pose some threat to punch them in the face if they are entirely focused on tdd and not paying any regards to your hands.

Mistakenly then sherdog posters think he wants to be K1 Maia or that Ronda wants to strike when they would gladly take the TD if available and win via submission. that is not the case. At the top you just have to have more tools.
