This has been touched on as a potential explanation of the recent attack in Canada by many posters, but pretty regularly gets brought up. I didn't bring any studies on the matter, but the nexus between male sexual frustration and mass violence is well documented, from "loner" gunmen like in Columbine to ISIS recruits and the documented rape market within ISIS ranks. Even dating back to pre-modern times, there was a clear centrality of sexual appropriation to war and conquest, seeming to incentivize mass violence for dudes who can't get laid.

In a civilization that commodifies romantic success and frames violent behavior as a possible cultural response (or in cases incentivizes aggression as a precondition to expanding one's romantic market value), how do we address this potential issue?

Some idiot scholars have claimed Hitler was a virgin and that’s why he hated the world. This is utterly false, and a dangerous assertion because you bring the holocaust and ww2 down to not being laid, and ignore all the real reasons it happened.

I spent 12 months in Kabul, w/ literally millions of Afghans around me. Yet I didn't see one....single.....adult.....female the entire time. Science has proven that historically, this is how humans have operated. The small period of monogamous culture is an outlier (the cause of which can be debated and analyzed in a PhD thesis, certainly not a message board). There have been many more mothers throughout history than fathers, as evident in cross geographic genetic variation studies.

Here is the thing I don't get about the whole Incel thing:

There are tons of ugly, fat, poor dudes getting laid and making babies. There are always women available if you are willing to shoot on your own level. Bonus points if you will stay with someone who has kids already by another man.

In my twenties, I have it on good authority I was a solid 6. I wasn't even attracted to 8+. They were out of my league so I barely went for them. I have many friends that are in the 2-3 range and they always have girlfriends in the same range. They go for it, attracted to it because they know who they can get with.

If you're a 4 an you walk around all day thinking about hooking up with the solid 9 barista, you're going to feel pretty shitty.
