The Greatest Of All Time. There is none.

I actually totally agree.

UFC has been around long enough that we're getting into that zone where there is an argument for multiples right now. Boxing, basketball, baseball.... there just isn't a goat because there's too many levels to try to compare people on.

Fedor ... no

Sorry you can't be goat of MMA and not fight in the UFC ... forget the politics... Its the most iconic promotion... the NFL of MMA

Except the UFC was more like the CFL, and PRIDE was the NFL.

Then when Pride folded, he beat two back to back UFC champions in Affliction.

Then when that folded, he fought in the only other org with the top HWs in the world...Strikeforce. You know, the org with Cormier and Werdum.

Fedor's losses are the worst of any guy that you could even make an argument for in the GOAT discussion.

The arguments made for him are the dumbest stuff imaginable.

pretty sure there would have been greek pankration fighter that would have killed modern ufc fighters.

Lol, hey man. You're late, it's past 3pm.

The GOAT discussion isn't invalid because there isn't a consensus. The fact that there isn't a consensus is exactly what enables discussion at all. The fact that differing opinions exist isn't of itself a bad thing. There are good arguments (and some really bad ones) supporting a few fighters being recognised as an MMA GOAT.That said, the opinion that the sport is just 25 years old so it is too early for a GOAT is pretty fair.

Personally I think it a good thing that people have a person they are convinced is the greatest, provided they spend time thinking about why they believe that and understand that in the end, it's just their opinion. Knowing it is just an opinion one holds should allow respectful discussion with someone holding a different viewpoint - and then both parties involved as well as anyone else listening to or reading the exchange can learn something.
