Testosterone does a lot more than increase strength

It does ALOT more than increase strength and recovery. it increases the amount of DHT in the Hippocampus, which greatly diminishes anxiety and fear. there is also a correlation between high testosterone and IQ. There is a reason why women are more prone to anxiety and lack of confidence, they have lower testosterone and high E2(estrogen)

not only can Testosterone make a fighter more confident, it can raise his fight IQ as well, which IS why we see fighters like Vitor all of a sudden knowing how to set up wheel kicks at the perfect time, or Overeem strategizing how to avoid getting hit in his weak spot(the chin). once both of these fighters got off of test, they lost not only their strength, muscle, and speed, but their fight IQ and confidence went down as well.

Jones is regarded as having one of the best fight IQs in the sport, but now we really have to question if this stems from PEDs. the initial argument is "Jones has a high fight IQ already naturally, PEDs just enhances it." Thats not necessarily true. Some people;e respond better to PEDs than others, its really a roll of the dice.

What you're saying is true, of course, but I think most people know this. There have been several highly publicized studies on testosterone and psychology, after all, and testosterone has definitely been a hot topic in the mainstream in recent years.

Whether the average sherdogger realizes it is an entirely different matter altogether, though, obviously....

Does test effect baldness?

depends on your genetics. if you're already genetically predisposed to baldness it will speed it up, which Is why Ive always been suspicious of fighters like JDS who went bald so quickly in his 20s. meanwhile., guys like Vitor and Barnett still keep a full head of hair.

We want to see fearless lions inside that Octagon, not anxious skinny-fat gazelles

USADA needs to go

Not necessarily. Most guys (that care about their hair) also use finasteride (Propecia) while cycling. I know a few guys on trt that aren't predisposed to male pattern baldness and their hair thinned out noticeably within 3 weeks; and that dose isn't anywhere close to taking "hardcore" gear like EQ, Sust, Deca etc. Finasteride stopped it.

Well, you made an interesting post, and then you contradict yourself (if this is roll of the dice, you can't claim for sure that Jon's IQ comes from PED use).

IMHO PED gave him more confidence.
It's a snowball effect and the PED helps confidence (of knowing he trained harder than his opponent) which helps being cooler in the cage which helps making better decisions which in turn increases "fight IQ"

Most of the proven correlations between IQ and high testosterone involve prenatal exposure. When exposed to higher test levels in the womb, those individuals end up with a more developed right prefrontal cortex. So you would benefit more if your Mother had a higher test level while carrying you.

well how do you know they aren't predisposed? the gene could come from the mother or fathers side. if their grandfathers, uncles, or even great grandfathers have baldness, on either side they can have that gene.

not trying to bring race into this again, but I've noticed Mexicans have SOLID hairline genetics and almost never lose hair or recede

it could be that Jones hippocampus responds better to DHT than others, thus giving him s better fight IQ than the fighters he has faced, even the ones who were also on PEDs

I was under the impression that prenatal testosterone exposure was detrimental to the fetus and was possibly related to autism

Because I've known two of them for over 10 years (know their families well) and the other 2 are my cousins.

No "Mexican" ancestry but the majority of my "semi-immediate family" (including aunts, first cousins, grandparents etc) are a combination of Puerto Rican, Russian and Armenian. Puerto Rican grandparents have some obvious "African" genetics.

Actually, studies have shown that higher IQ correlates with lower testosterone, imo.

I hate to bring race into it, but it explains some differences among the races.

IQ: Asians > Whites > Blacks

Testosterone: Blacks > Whites > Asians

Individuality>race

You can tell yourself whatever statistics you need to believe to make yourself feel better.

Everyone is different in mixed with a unique blend of DNA. Facts

Also, a low testosterone level contributes causes fatigue and issues with memory and concentration. That's more of the issue than them losing IQ that they gained on test.

TS - your primary premise is correct. PEDS do a lot more than build muscle. Look at Vitor without PEDS.....journeyman.

Look at Barry Bonds career - he never hit more than 46 HR his first 10 years in the league. Starts using PEDS and hits 73 HR when he should have been in the twilight of his career.
