Yea, it was a great move to not put him in there last minute against a heavy handed,strong wrestler with cardio, a guy who was sure to be too much for the skinny little Irishman. What was his name again? Oh yea, I think it was Mendes or something. Great call from Conor and his management.

Short notice, Mendes was out of camp which is why he gassed within two rounds.
Also like other people have said, he wasn't defending anything in that fight, he was the challenger.
Conor has NEVER had a fight where he's the one with something to lose, he only fights if it's even or he has something to gain.

What's hilarious is anyone who believes that if Tony had 100 million dollars in the bank right now he would even be considering ever taking another fight in a cage.
Tony strikes me as a "couple-mil-man". Like Nate and Nick Diaz. Let those guys make just a couple million and they will gladly and immediately put the fight game in their rear-view mirror.

Short notice blah blah. I guess it was all just wolf tickets when Mendes, Faber, and the rest of Alpha Male campaigned for the replacement with the whole, "Chad stays in fight shape all year long!" ? NEVER had a fight he didn't have something to lose? What do you consider Nate 1 and 2? Losing to Nate the first time significantly hurt his stock, that's WHY the rematch was made. Now imagine if he lost the second fight, hard to say there wasn't something to lose there. He most certainly wouldn't have gotten the shot against Alvarez, AND the Mayweather bout go's out the window as well.
