Just picked up Nier Automata on PC and basically cleared the whole game in 1 day, which I rarely ever do so it managed to capture my attention and keep me invested.
Very interesting and unique game, I especially like the shootem up sections and wish there was a bit more of it, this game scratches alot of itches I've had for shmups, side scrollers, twin stick shooters, etc.
The combat is overall good but not quite on the level of Bayonetta/DMC, the level design is quite interesting too as it reminds of Dark Souls with the hidden paths, maze like structure and corridors that lead to more open areas. The soundtrack is one of the best I've heard in a game and it really carries this game in alot of ways.
Only other games that I"m planning on purchasing this year is DS3 Ring City, Prey, Tekken 7 and MvC Infinite. Probably wont even play the fighters that much, I just need to have them in my library. I think Prey is going to surprise alot of people and be in GOTY talks, which is tough racket with BOTW basically clinching it already.
