There's a company out there called Mars One that is planning to put private citizens on Mars by April 22, 2023. The controversy is Mars One is a marketing company.
They are going to be sending someone on a one way mission to live on Mars and die. They already have plans to select participants like a reality tv show, the people decide who goes. Everything is going to be filmed like a reality tv show, even the stuff on Mars.

What sort of time dilation is happening for such a trip? How fast can our ships go? I'd imagine the effect would be small since our ships are slow, right?

I just don't like the thought of taking a spacetrip that is like 2 weeks for me, but my whole family has lived their lives and died in those two weeks. It would be the saddest 2 weeks ever.

Insignificant. The effects of drinking your own urine and terrible boredom would more than overcome any dilation.
