That isn't how warfare works.

Yes, if they retreated into the mountains and fought a guerilla war like a pack of Taliban savages or Sunni bandits, terrorizing villages then yes, that could work.

When the US occupies all of their major hubs and cities, they would surrender. Perhaps elements of the military would fight on as insurgents but they would yield all major parts of the country.

And the US would make sure to secure all weapons caches before disbanding any armies this time.

You forget that the US military took Iraq incredibly easily and had relatively low insurgency.... it wasn't until they disbanded an army north of 400,000 fighting men and sent them packing that they had a major issue to deal with.

I have this feeling that China and Russia are privately encouraging Kim Jong to do this, particularly when Trump made his firey threats.

Because those two powers would love nothing more than to see the United States draw another red line, only to suddenly turn cuck when that red line gets crossed.
