People saying Conor has no ground game and that Khabib will smash him because Khabib is the best grappler at lightweight are basing this on the false premise that Nate easily submitted Conor.

It wasn't Nate's ground game that beat Conor. Nate had to wear Conor down first and tire him out during the standup. He then exhausted him by landing hits after hits and Conor had no answer to that.

At that point, Nate could have finished Conor in any way he wanted, and that just happened to be via submission so you can't say that Conor has no ground game based on that alone.

Khabib will be absolutely zero threat to Conor standing up. And fact of the matter is that Khabib has went to a decision in 6 of his 10 fights in the UFC so what makes you think he can hurt Conor iron chin McGregor?

Seriously, Khabib will take down Conor for one round AT BEST and then get KOed Mini Mendes style.

Nope. He got outclassed. He actually managed to get decent position but nate was just better. When instincts came into play the gap in skill showed. Watch nate stop conors attempted pass with his leg or how he seamlessley got the choke. It was like watching a guy go through his x's and O's while the other guy scrambles to survive

That's not true. Khabib is a good striker due to it's unorthodox and awkward style. Many people think it's bad because it's so "awkward", but it suits his fighting style perfectly, which is setting up that takedown.

However, he is not one of the top 3 strikers in the LW division. Tony, Alvarez, Poirier, Gaethje, Barboza, Pettis, McGregor all possess better striking. But none possess the striking/takedown combo Khabib has.

You talk like McGregor has a glass chin and Khabib has dynamite in his hands..I'm not doing the research because I'm pretty sure I already know the answer, but who has Khabib KO'd with one clean shot?

Khabib went for the take down shortly after this bum gif. Would have been ko'd trying to stand with mj much longer. Conor by ko in the first minute, but khabib needs to beat Tony or Lee first not a real estate agent by decision.

Actually, rewatch Khabib vs Raging Al. Khabib gassed hard during the championships rounds. Conor is a sniper compared to raging Al, and if Khabib gives room like he did with Al, Khabib is getting clean clocked KOed.

He landed more strikes in the last 3 rounds and was more active in the fifth round than any of the other rounds. He picked up the pace in round 5. In fact he threw progressively more each round until round 5 where he started sub hunting.

Conor has a decent ground game but nothing all that impressive compared to the rest of LW. His ground defense is solid and his TDD ain't bad either, but he's nothing special in the ground department.

No seriously, Conor ducked Khabib and you are talking out your ass and you don't know WTF you are talking about. First off, Nate does not have Khabib's wrestling or take down skills. Nate is BJJ specialist on the ground. That means if the fight goes there, Nate can kill you like an anaconda. It also means he has to "tire him out" with boxing. Nate is a box first and kill you on the ground next guy without any serious take down threats. Khabib is a wrestling, sambo/judo specialist. That means he has a million and one ways to easily and effortlessly take down Conor without engaging in any stand up at all. One round with Khabib on top of him and Conor would be gassed. There is a reason Conor let his title be stripped instead of fighting Khabib. Its because Conor knows more about it than you do.
