McMaster out, John Bolton in.

LOL @ any of the fucking idiots who claimed that Hillary was a much bigger warhawk.
She was and Trump wasn't......before the election. But Trump has done a 180 on his stance

It's amazing how you guys just make up your own reality
I love how everytime Trump fires someone the left goes from hating that person to defending that person.

Pot, meet kettle.

I don't remember any of the regulars here giving McMaster a hard time. The military guys have always seemed like the only competent ones. It just happens that many of the people getting the boot are people who had more credibility in the administration. Even if you don't like them, that is regrettable when you look at what is left. But you know that.

do tell of all the wars and invasions trump has started

I didn't say he had, my comment on his 180 directional change has to do with the warmongering vibes he is giving off by appointing hawks, specifically anti Iran hawks. Hillary , according to most people, was seen as the interventionist. She wanted to depose Assad, and was a leading figure in getting Obama to bomb Ghaddafi. Trump on the other hand didn't want to attack Assad, he wanted to leave him alone.

Trump was all over the place during the primaries and general election campaigns. People interpreted his gibberish however they wanted to based on their own baises.

Despite the fact that he was just doing it to take a cheap shot at Jeb Bush and the Bush family and the fact that he actually supported the invasion at the time, he does deserve some credit for repeatedly calling bullshit on the GOP establishment for perpetrating the Iraq war.

However, he also made many belligerent statements about "bombing the crap out of the Middle East," indiscriminately killing "terrorists," their families and, by extension, civilian bystanders (which he has done since easing the rules of engagement) and repeatedly mused about using nuclear weapons.

It was asinine to assume that anybody with his childish temperament would pursue a dovish foreign policy.

But overall he was seen as non-interventionist. He is America First, and if you look into the roots of America First, it is non-interventionism.

Bolton sucks. Hopefully Trump has him on a leash.

Unbelievable that someone so closely involved in the Iraq war can make a political comeback.

After Trump has excoriated the intelligence community for getting the intelligence wrong that led to the Iraq war, and after him using that as the primary reason for why the intelligence community could not be trusted about their conclusions about Russian interfere in the US election, Trump turns around and hires Bolton. With so many of his supporters hating the Republican party for the Iraq war, you would think that this would be a slap in their faces and they would get pissed about it.

What a fucking shit show.

Yeah, Trump called bullshit, and that is why the absurdity of Trump turning around and hiring someone as his National Security Advisor who was involved in weaponizing bad intelligence (and fucking British Intelligence) after all that Trump has said about the Iraq war, and the intelligence community, is truly shocking. Bolton was part of the Bush Administration, and although the information is classified, Bolton has been accused of being the one who pushed Bush to include: "The British government has learned that Saddam Hussein recently sought significant quantities of uranium from Africa" in his 2003 State of the Union Address, despite there being dissenting opinions about the intelligence being "highly suspect."

That's the dumbest thing I ever heard. He openly campaigned on being against all wars, bringing troops home, closing bases, and ending NATO.

You must have not been paying attention to his campaign. He labeled all others war minders and the war mongers hated him

Lol he said so many ridiculous things in the campaign. He said there would be no war in the same speeches he said his secret strategy (which he totally has but can't say because he doesn't want terrorists to know it) would defeat Iraq in a month because he knows more about the military than the generals who run it.

Only morons believed any part of that.

Trumps campaign will be studied for years. He basically took every position in every subject to please everyone and just went from one position to another depending who he was talking to. You could see 2 people debate trumps position and say completely different things and both using trumps words as their reason and be right. That was the beauty of having no record.....but you would have thought eventually people would see he was full of shit.

Alot of truth to this. I will never forget trumps 9-11, might have been the Saudi's speech. Compare that to what he has actually done.

I remember being encouraged by that speech. I didn't realize that you could give that speech, and then completely support the Saudi's more then a Bush would, and somehow avoid political consequence.

It's a cult of personality. No act, statement or position would make them not support. They are truly brainwashed.

More likely Iran. Trump knows that Russia and China won't let him play in NK, and hundreds of thousands of South Koreas would be killed. In Iran there is no ally population close that would be targeted in retribution like how NK leverages SK.

What interests me is how Putin fits into this picture. If (when) Bolton moves to tank the Iran deal that puts Trump caught between Putin and Bolton's burning desire to bomb the fuck out of Iran.

This is what makes me suspect NK will be Bolton's target.
