The truth also is Gus could easily be 2-0 against Jones and DC. He is that good, you dont seem to understand that since you use his wins over Glover and Manuwa like those fights are his ceiling. I bet that if this was Luke vs Jones or DC you would give Luke little to zero chance.

You are underrating Gus like so many others everytime he fights.

Actually, I think Luke matches up better with both of them than he does Gus. I’d pick all 3 to beat him though

His range and movement would nullify Gus’s boxing. He’s got strong kicks and a decent straight left. And then if he can get inside on Gus, I think he can clinch him and control him.

Before the Glover fight, the general opinion of Gus wasn’t nearly as high as it is now. Glover is a great fighter, but he is very different from Luke. Gus is extremely slow on his feet and was a stationary target for Gus.

I’m not saying Luke should be favored, just that it’s not as much of a mismatch as some people think.

People weren’t as high, but that only speaks to the fickle nature of mma fans, after one lacklustre fight.
Gus is always going to pose the kind of problems rockhold has shown he struggles with.
Gus uses range better and is longer than rockhold, who usually benefits from being one of longer guys at MW.
The only area I see rockhold having any success in is with the kicks.
I think, a more hydrated, Luke would do well in the thin LHW div but would do very poorly vs Gus.

bad with his devastating top game along with his GnP. I know when DC got Gus down he didn't do any damage but Rockhold operates differently on top

not just dc but also jones stuggled with holding down gus. i dont think rockholds able to hold him down and it will stay on the feet

Romero blasted Rockhold's Chin into orbit, Gus may very well Uppercut his chin into another universe if he doesn't start implementing a more grapple friendly game plan, I don't see him out striking Gus at all. Gus may have been running his mouth these past few weeks but he's a tough fight for even the elite of the LHW Division IE Jones and DC.

In any case, list the entire UFC roster and tell me Gus doesn't beat 95% of the D-level athletes on there. ffs the majority of the UFC roster is just filler cans to begin with
