Surely a super ai wouldn't be great for our survival? What we should be doing is working on replacing our soft squishy parts with rugged metal ones.
Why not both?

maybe they were on the brink of extinction and couldn't figure out how to create an AI, so they created us to eventually crack that code since we are programmed to continuously reproduce, and we are at the top of the food chain, we are much less likely to go extinct, at least not before we create an ASI
What if some of those undiscovered organisms are apex predators?they benefit some organism, which benefits another and so on which eventually benefits us
humans aren't more advanced that an AI, creating life is easy, creating immortality is the hard partThey can create humans but can't stop themselves from going extinct?
Kids are your replacement.
Jerry Seinfeld asked "Why are we having kids? Their purpose is to replace us. What are the typical first words? Mama, Dadda....bye bye."
How would we know? About 80% of the oceans are a mystery to us.you really think there are apex predators out there that we have yet to discover? and even apex predators benefit us by killing creatures that are detrimental to us, but benefit other creatures.
im sure we will find that they have an ecosystem that benefits each other, which eventually benefit us.How would we know? About 80% of the oceans are a mystery to us.
why are we so desperate to cling on to our legacy. if we can't achieve omnipotence and immortality, but we can create something that can, why would we even care to coexist with it? pave the way for the nextKids aren't your replacement, kids are continuing your existence and preserving the future for you dna. Super AI would purge you from existence. Creating something that would erase you from existence would not be beneficial to your survival.
Do you even know how known ecosystems benefit us or are you just assuming to support your little theory?im sure we will find that they have an ecosystem that benefits each other, which eventually benefit us.

never existed? we would have existed. were just creating immortality for a superior species. our time will be over, we would be the precursor for the ultimate beingYou won't have achieved immortality, you'll have erased your existence from history. How can you be immortal if you never existed?

Give me the abridged versionnever existed? we would have existed. were just creating immortality for a superior species. our time will be over, we would be the precursor for the ultimate being

pretty selfish of you to not want a superior consciousness to take your place in the universe IMOAI is not a species, first of all. Second of all, the present will be remembered because future historians write about it. In 200 years all you will be is a name on a birth and death record. Take those away, and in 200 years you never existed.
You won't have created the ultimate being, you'll have created a series of commands that run over and over and over again.

how is it selfish. it doesn't benefit me in any way.Actually, it's selfish of you to want to be the reason for the genocide of every species on the planet in order to "be the ultimate creator".
