How do you all feel about young kids watching MMA fights?

I think the whole thing was all that stuff desensitizes kids to violence as opposed to making them violent.

If I had kids I wouldn't let them watch until a certain age, maybe 13. Could I prevent them from ever seeing it from that age? Not likely considering I'd have them in BJJ as early as possible and I know they'd want to watch it.?

13? Woah..Kids are exposed to porn and violent movies by their friends at school by 8 nowadays. I think coddling and sheltering kids is the worst thing to do. Raises them to be pussies and also does not prepare them for the real world.

I just asked a question and didn't say I was for or against it. I do wonder about kids seeing their dad or mom beat up (if they are losing) but really don't have an opinion on it which is why I asked the question.

Thinking I missed the main point of the question, I think it's okay for kids to watch once their around 10 give or take depending on emotional maturity but yeah I don't think it's a good idea for kids to watch their parents potentially get their ass kicked.

It's how I lull them to sleep.

As long as you teach them its about respect and sportsmanship, and have them understand its not ok to "ufc fight" kids at school it's good IMO.

It's good but you must ensure they have understanding and control. It's no worse than what they see on MTV.

Man, some of these fights do get pretty gory. Seems worse than the boxing I remember as a kid. My daughter has seen a few MMA matches, including mine, and used to go to the gym with me when she was really young. She seen some, but no really bloody ones since she was about 8.

Considering she now sees Zombies exploding graphically in movies - no matter that she can't watch them at home, they see it anyways - it doesn't seem like a big deal really.

It's been happening all throughout history, I see zero harm in it. All kids should do wrestling minimum, they need to understand their limitations and the limitations of those around them. They need to know what it's like to test your will against another, I learned more in 4 years wrestling than I did in any other activity growing up....maybe besides gaming. Put all these bad a$$ kids in wrestling class, and they'll know how to respect each other and take responsibility.

I wish my kids were into watching it. They think it's boring.

During the most recent episode of Dana White's Tuesday Night Contenders Series I noticed quite a few young children (probably ages 5 through 12 years old) in the audience. I assume they were watching their dad fight. Do you all think this is appropriate for young children especially family members? I'm not sure how I feel about it. I don't have children but I remember (vaguely, lol) not being allowed to watch horror movies as a kid (MMA didn't exist back then, lol).

Conor Jr. was watching the last fight night and seemed to really enjoy it.

I think it builds character to have thousands of people yell Fuck Them to their face.

Depends though if it's my son I wouldn't want him to watch me get knocked out in 13 seconds if his dad or mom is fighting then no

I would never bring my young kids to the arena to watch an MMA event. However, from time to time they watch briefly on the TV and then fuck each other up. My son who will soon start kindergarten loves to box with his father.

It depends, are you this guy...

MMA/Wrestling/BJJ will beat the communist and SJW right out of most young kids, I support kids doing and watching MMA.

shouldn't really affect your kid that much, unless he is a psychopath to begin with.

My daughters watched (not really watched, but were exposed to) UFC fights when they were quite young.

I told them that the blood was ketchup, and they didn't question that, which surprised me.

It's the same as them watching pro-wrestling, they don't know that that is fake at a young age.

I don't think there's anything in this world that triggers me more than people saying that "MMA is boring" or basically "real fights are boring."

I'm talking bout grown ups, obviously. Although I'd probably even start an argument with a 4 year old kid about it.
