HW are the real deal. You are correct. Guy who need to fight a certain weight and so on....not relevant in the GOAT discussion.

Hendo was 206. Not 185lb. And Hendo can KO anyone on the planet. Just because he KOd a past prime Fedor doesn't mean anyone can beat elite HWs. GSP tapped to strikes to a LW (if you are calling Hendo a 185lb man). I don't see a LW beating Fedor so badly lol.

It may be the least skilled but it is the ultimate weight class. There's a reason Jon Jones etc cut weight. If it was so weak he would surely want to win the number 1 prize.

2 Division champ. Always fought top contenders. Avenged both his two losses. Never failed a drug test. It's between him and MM but based on the level of competition i'll say GSP. Honorable mention for Fedor.

Hendo is 5'10 and could have fought at WW dude.. HW is a terrible weight class now. It was terrible back then. And when he did go and find some decent foes, he was brutalized. I would have loved to see Fedor at LHW fighting the following

Rampage
Shogun
Chuck
Tito
Hendo (Got that one didn't end well for him)
Wandy
Rashad
Anderson

Had he come to the UFC we would have got some of those, and some could have happened in Pride. His record is good, but also overrated. HW is just not skilled..

All those guys you listed just needed to stop cutting weight and Fedor would have fought them. It's that simple. HW has the highest finish % of any weight class so it's harder to be undefeated as anyone can KO anyone. What Fedor did was remarkable. He didn't lose a single round until Werdum. Talk about domination.

Wrong, claiming a fighter is the GOAT while literally neglective half of his career is idiotic. GOAT does not mean who had the best run, the mystique of Fedor ended, and fans have been in complete denial since then.

Since Fedor went on his embaracing losing streak, which he was only 32/33 at the time, GSP had continued to improve his legacy, which easily surpassed(was less but became more) with consistency, and never losing.

YAWN.....HW terrible weight class?

Let's review the lie of the WW class. In the late 2000s, nobody cared for what were the manlet fights of the time, the WW fights. So, a lie was created, much like in boxing: "oh, these smaller boring guys are oh-so-skilled". So, the promotion tried to lull people into watching that stuff and so on. Add to it insecure GSP fanboys who knew he was not performing at the level of AS and later on, Jones, and they clung to the WW is "tougher" lie like superglue.

It's a lie: that's all.

HW is the real deal. No weight cutting, no BS: you fight men your own size and don't make up excuses.
