I sew my own shit when I want to have things fitted, haven’t done it lately. Last time was my grandmother curtains and yes it’s a pain in the ass trying to get it started properly when you have no previous experience.

Couldn't look at a normal button and reverse engineer it? Or watch a youtube on it?

I once told a woman co-worker a button must have exploded in the laundry and disappeared and she offered to sew a new one on for me.

Velcro is tough because it has some tough plastic backing that's hard to pierce. I don't trust the stick on ones, which would get the needle sticky too.
