I love this country, I grew up here, currently raising a family and I pay taxes. If anyone says America isn't the greatest country then I would need some sort of proof to show me a better country to live in. I come from a country where we had to boil water just to take a shower, that is just how life is in the old country. That said, I would never fight for this country because America has enough sons. My country of origin on the other hand doesn't, so I donate when I can. I pray to God war doesn't break out again like it did in the 90's and if it ever did I wont hesitate to go back.

Well, yeah. Don't get me wrong, I will (and often do) criticize my country when it's fucking up, but the very fact that I can do that without fear of reprisal is one of the best things about my country, and indeed is one of the best things about living in any liberal democracy. I'm way the hell left of center politically (at least by US standards), but flag burning lefties can go get fucked, right along with white nationalists. If I didn't love my country, I wouldn't have given a not insignificant portion of my life serving in her military.

ADDENDUM: in truth, if I didn't love my country, I wouldn't bother to criticize it. If I truly believed that America was a hopeless, irredemable shitshow, what would be the point?
