Media DDP: I can't even explain how long we're willing to wait, as UFC Africa is the real milestone event

Interim Belt @ UFC 300.

Strip DDP at International Fight Week and announce an Undisputed Title Fight in September.

Keep the UFC Train rolling. I'm old and healthy, but running out of time -- I don't need him holding up my Lowest Common Denominator Fight Entertainment

OM, can't agree with stripping DDP at 300, he deserves time to heal and get in a

camp before he defends his belt. His "Willing to wait" is a farce, hell with that.

Dana announces Izzy/Strickland 2 for ME @300 for recently vacated Belt....

Where would they even hold a UFC Africa?

Joberg?

Llagos?

Wrestling stadium in Senegal?

Who's gonna pay for it?

Are there any Nigerian billionaires who want to outflex the Saudis and Emirates?

Lame. Hope he sticks to his guns and gets stripped.

How about instead of "willing to wait", you defend your damn title and try to be the champ for a while until they decide to have an event in a place where everyone needs to be escorted by guards with AK-47s?

Cape Town in South Africa most likely

It's their best option but even so I think it would be a bust

This is the goober some of you all wanted as champion because Sean hurt your feelings. You deserve what you get.

“The big fight with me and Adesanya is still on the table,” Du Plessis said. “It’s still there. We can still capitalize on that because he does deserve a hiding. He does deserve what’s coming to him from me. How I see this in my mind is I fight Strickland, become the middleweight champion, and the first title defense is against Israel Adesanya at UFC 300. In a perfect world, that’s how I would like it to play out.”

Based DDP -- RIP

DDP was never gonna be in a realistic position to fight on UFC 300. He just won the belt a few weeks ago, in January. 3 months would have been a tough one to pull off, and naturally he didn't come out of the fight unscathed.

At the same time, there is a bit of an issue with fighters winning the belt and immediately becoming picky. I'm glad they are speaking up and dictating how they want to perform as a champion, but it's also leading to too much unwillingness to scrap.

DDP won the belt off Strickland who won it in September.

Volk is defending against Ilia in a week after getting KTFO in October.

These fighters don't want to fight man.

I had no issue with him sinking to Sean's level leading up to the fight DDP

squeaked by to win, but Izzy (I'm no fan of him) never hid from anyone and

proudly defended against ALL comers - at any time, at any location.

DDP makes me wish Sean had fought with urgency, he'd have never lost.

Wait for what? Why not fight before UFC in Africa (if that even happens), and then also fight in Africa? Unless he's so scared he's going to lose his belt in his next fight?

Give Strickland back his effing belt.

He'd defend 3 times a year.
Strickland might defend 5 times a year. The guy loves to fight and doesn't do a huge weight cut.

Funny he's beating up guys right now while DDP still can't walk
