Cormier vs Lewis: HOW POINTLESS

We had jack shit on that card. Now we get to see all time great DC vs a Big dude who definitely can knock out anyone in the world at any time. And who knows what shape DC comes in? He was talking not too long ago with Ariel about having bad issues with his hands that he needed to take care of before doing another fight.

It's not pointless in the sense that it's a fairly easy payday for Cormier while he's waiting for something bigger. It also gets a fair amount of casual fans excited. Cormier is simply too smart to give this version of Lewis a chance to beat him. Lewis couldn't even beat a truly awful looking Mark Hunt, and his win over Ngannou counts for nothing considering Ngannou has gone completely zombie on everyone. He wasn't actually there in the Octagon that night.
 
Before the Francis fight Lewis said that, if the fight is boring, they should be cut from the UFC. And he's fighting for the belt.
 
Lewis is on a 3 fight win streak against the number 4,5, and 9 ranked HWs with 2 of those 3 wins being knockouts. You guys dont respect his skillset but hes earned the title shot
 
It wasn't impressive but he beat Ngannou and Volkov, he deserves the shot. Best case scenario for this match turning out better than expected: he rocks DC early and Cormier has to fight back from there.
 
jokes on you guys, BB going to do an extra 15 mins every other day for this fight if his back doesn't hurt too much

Lewis has about the same chance of winning as Bisping against Rockhold.
 
There is no other fighter in the top 10 that deserves the shot more. Volkov lost to the beast, as did Ngannou, and Stipe needs a win before he deserves a rematch.
Then we have Werdum who fucked up(and lost to Volkov his last fight), dos Santos who won against, uh, hm... some guy. Blaydes got the better of Overeem, not good enough to warrant a title shot these days.
Alexey Oleynik then? Would probably win so Dana won´t allow it.
 
Lesnar < Lewis ...

he wants a quick title defense on his resume and he will give the belt up when he fights Jones third time
 
I agree Lewis isn't the greatest fighter we have ever seen, but he did just beat Ngannou (who most everyone on here hyped to high heaven because of how he looks), and Volkov (who was coming off a win over Werdum). Like it or not, Lewis is the #1 HW in the world right now after Cormier. In other words, once Cormier retires in march, HW is completely dead in the ufc.

Just imagine if Lewis somehow KO's Cormier and next year we get Lesnar (who hasn't won a fight in over 8 years) vs Lewis lol The good news is Bellator is the place to go for HW now. Tonight we have Mitrione (who KO'd Lewis in 41 seconds) vs Bader (who looks more powerful than ever at HW). And tomorrow we have the GOAT vs Sonnen. And Vitaly Minakov (who TKO'd Volkov for the Bellator HW title in under 3 minutes) is back in Bellator as well.

DC offsets the matchup versus old school matchups, not BB. I didn't say worst HW fight.... worst champ if BB wins.

No, I think Maurice Smith has more skill than Black Beast does.

Maurice Smith is a LHW or maybe even MW by today's standards.

DC and "champ", "good person" and stuff doesn't mix. Jones is back and he prefers to fight Lewis with that knowing back totally fucked, nor Stipe or Jones, the real ones he needs to fight to prove a point. Fake champ, never will be.

Let them bang, bro. Regardless of how he looks in fights, Lewis has the best win streak at HW besides Cormier.
 
Sure but who the fuck cares. Ya gotta give Lewis a title shot at some point just like ya did Maia, might as well just slip it in randomly somewhere
