Can you guys recommend some good horror films?

The Exorcist
The Exorcism of Emily Rose
The Conjuring
Insidious
Texas Chainsaw Massacre (2003)
The Rite (2011)
Hellbound: Hellraiser II
Night of the Living Dead (1968)
Evil Dead 2: Dead by Dawn
Paranormal Activity 3

I have to say, the TCM remakes weren't half bad.

Also House of a Thousand Corpses might deserve a mention.

I thought House of a Thousand Corpses was a cheap TCM rip off. The only part that I found remotely "scary" was in the very beginning when that Captain Spaulding character was fucking with those people.

Both of these are excellent films. I've watched Triangle maybe 3 times. But they are not horror genre right? More psychological films.

Let The Right One In is probably the top to bottom the best horror movie I've seen since 2009. Great film. I've heard the American remake is good too but never got around to it and I"m assuming it's inferior to the original.

I like both, prefers the original.
Humble opinion, both have totally different meaning to their endings. LTROI is really about Eli looking for a companion and it's kind of sad.. Let Me In is... not. It definitely caters to Hollywood needs though. I would still recommend a watch.

i guess OHP would be classified as a thriller. But it's creepy enough, so I would cast it as horror. I think the "thriller" or whatever you wanna call it genre of film as produced scarier films than the traditional horror genre in the last 20 some years. horror was pretty bad in the 2000s and even earlier. FIlms like OHP and Insomnia (purposely shouting out RB) are films that are generally creepy without being parodies of themselves, like some films (saw, Paranormal activity) are.

I also find some documentaries quite creepy. maybe because you know it is a real story. There was one on youtube a while ago....it was all about how aliens are actually demons....creeped the fuck out of me.

edit: didn't think aliens are demons is actually real. but I was high when I watched it and paranoid. The concept of it even being suggested creeped me out a lot, not it being real.

The Witch
The Exorcist
Jacob's Ladder
Psycho II
Audition
It Follows
The Devil's Backbone
Eraserhead
The Innocents

The Ring was, I thought, as scary as anything I'd ever seen. But I did not enjoy it at all.

I don't watch too many horror movies, but In the last several months I've watched these and thought they were decent.

Get out.

I'm not talking about the movie.

Anything Rob Zombie directs is complete white trash shit. Somehow, he was able to make Halloween, one of the most fundamentally sound series out there, unpalatable with his hillbilly story writing and dog shit direction.

Oh.. I wholeheartedly agree on this.
I'm a horror buff. 2000s was a bad decade for horror. It turned into gore;torture porn basically with Saw and Hostel franchise. There are a few gems in between but not something that will stand out as classics.

Would love to watch the demon = aliens documentary you mentioned if you remember the name.

ill look for it and send you a link. remember dead silence?

I know the film but can't remember the plot or whether it was good. But seeing that I can't remember, it's likely subpar, for me personally.

Im searching through youtube for it...can't find which one is the one I watched. searching "ufos/demons" garners a lot of results.

i think this one is the one I watched.

Thanks, I will take some time to watch it.

is was about a ventriloquist pupper that was possessed or something. it was proudly bad. I

digressing, but Ive just remembered the deer scene in Ring 2. Like we get it there are a lot of deer on the road. if you think that's creepy you need to get out of the city.

I listed a bunch from the 2000s that were amazing. I'm a huge horror buff myself.

I was glued to The Ring. All genres inclusive, I think its one if the GOAT movies. But I can understand someone not enjoying it because it is terrifying.

I consider Joyride a thriller/borderline horror. One of my favorites.

To be honest, you're right. I remember it being a big disappointment outside of captain Spaulding and then, I suppose, the dismounting scarecrows at the gate. But yeah, it wasn't very good.
