Can you guys recommend some good horror films?

I just caught the tv adaptation of it with tim curry. Thats always good

The ones I was going to mention were already mentioned (except the original IT). So I will tap into the international market.

The Invitation is on netflix. However, it's a very deliberately paced film. Much more a slow burn.

I'm watching death gasm right now. Its....quite amusing :)

The first Texas Chainsaw Massacre reboot from i think like 2003 was actually pretty good, and more recently I personally enjoyed the new Blair Witch movie.

Very underrated movie, I went in with low expectations but was surprisingly impressed by it, I think they're making a sequel also.

Same here.

I actually think I watched it after somebody in mayberry recommended it.

The descent
The others
Devils rejects
Cabin in the woods
The ring
Evils dead 1 and 2
Drag me to hell
Cabin fever
Jeepers creepers

Really depends. I'm not into slasher flicks

Great list.

I liked it a lot too. Not as great as some were hyping it up to be on here, but very tense and creepy. Awesome atmosphere, very cool 80s style with the music and the overall vibe. Definite recommend there. Easily one of the best horrors I've seen in the past half decade.

I thought Get Out was really entertaining but it's more like a creepy thriller/social satire.

Let The Right One In is probably the top to bottom the best horror movie I've seen since 2009. Great film. I've heard the American remake is good too but never got around to it and I"m assuming it's inferior to the original.

I saw Goodnight Mommy which had some really good reviews but I thought it was poor. My buddy called the twist in the opening five minutes and the ending devolved way too far into torture porn shenanigans after being more of a psychologically creep film to start with. Arthouse-ish and dull and then offputting.

Yep. It Follows definitely had a cool 80s vibe to it.

I'd say pretty much all the horror movies I've seen in the last year were mayberry recommendations.

Holidays had a couple gems in there, too, IMO.

My 2 cents - from the late nineties onward:

The Ring
Ravenous
28 Days Later
28 Weeks Later
Dawn Of The Dead (2004)
Frailty
Darkness
Secret Window
Cabin Fever (2002)
The Uninvited (2009)
Martyrs
The House of the Devil (2009)
Maniac
Drag Me To Hell
Cabin in the Woods (2011)
Surveillance (borderline horror/thriller)
Mama
Sinister
The Conjuring (1 and 2)
Insidious
It Follows
Annabelle (some didn't like it, I thought it was good)
The Visit
Bone Tomahawk

"It Comes at Night" just came out, looks pretty cool but yet to watch it.

If people in the thread are complaining about "The Witch" not being a horror film, I don't want to see the screams about "It Comes at Night"...both really good films (Although the latter will leave more of the audience pissed off at the conclusion).

Honestly, the original "The Thing" was great

The Witch was excellent, but not enough payoff IMO. 8/10 because of that.

I made my big honkin' list, but distilled to 10 from the last 20 years (which Scream narrowly misses otherwise it would be on it)

Ravenous
The Ring
Dawn Of The Dead (2004)
Frailty
Secret Window
Drag Me To Hell
The Uninvited
Insidious
Mama
Bone Tomahawk (almost not a horror, but I consider it one)

I want to honorable mention several from my previous list lol.

BTW, this is one few seem to have seen. Definitely a throwback to seventies and early eighties horror even though from 2009. I mentioned it in my list. Pretty scary:

^ this is a good movie and is a good match with It Follows

I didn't like it because it was trying to be too much of what that might actually be in real life

I liked the realism, but in the end, just not enough. It left me with a similar "oh-kaaay" to The Village (which I also liked quite a bit, mind you).
