Bernie, Biden, and Warren showing all the signs of 2020 runs

Bernie couldn't even beat his own party, what in the world would make me believe he can beat Trump?
You can only go so far on promises of free shit before reality takes over.
And coupling the message of free shit with one of open borders (or as close to it as the dems will admit in public) makes even less sense.

Warren should have been Hillary's VP.

Tim Kaine did nothing for the ticket in 2016.
She won his home state of VA, which was considered a swing state. That wasn't nothing. He was also a Spanish speaker whose son is a veteran (might still be in the Marines). In a race highlighted by immigration issues, and noting that Hillary has a very poor reputation among those in the military, it appeared to be a smart, calculated move. As an aside, her appearance of always being calculated and seeming very inauthentic is, by my eye, one of the major reasons that people are turned off by her. President Trump, for better or worse, is seen by many Americans as being the guy who says what's on his mind, and there are a lot of people who appear to appreciate that.

What would Warren have contributed to her candidacy that Kaine didn't?

I really want to see what happens if a populist like Warren or Bernie wins, and what the Democratic establishment machine will do.

If Warren or Bernie win the primary (both would have solid shots), you would just say that they are part of the Democratic establishment machine and vote against them in the general.

Warren is basically Bernie-lite and draws the same crowd. Or more specifically Warren was Bernie before Bernie was a thing.

Tim Kaine voters would have voted for Hillary anyway. In the age of celebrity being known matters. No one knew Tim Kaine before, during, or even after the election. Warren was a least known on a broader stage from doing lots of TV before she was even Senator.

Hmm, I'm not convinced that she would have somehow brought disaffected Bernie supporters back into the voting booths. She definitely has a fan base across the US, but she has a lot of political baggage that could make her look very unappealing to swing votes.

Time Kaine was an appeal towards energizing the Latino vote, giving Virginians a face that they knew and trusted (he was the Gov and Lt Gov immediately before he was a US Senator) and maybe picking up a few military votes that were upset about President Trump's nomination (Republicans that didn't think he had the temperament to be the Commander in Chief), not necessarily appealing to his devoted fans across the country (assuming he has any).

If this was a week ago, I would've taken you up on that bet with no questions asked whatsoever.

But considering that fuckin circus I saw happen in Helsinki, no way I'm taking that bet lol POTUS needs to correct that colossal mistake immediately if he plans on re-election, because he seemed to completely throw the United States of America under the bus just to appease Vladimir Putin. Craziest thing I've ever seen, and I'm a registered Republican.

You know I created a call out thread on this 6 months. Said I would take any sig or avatar bet if anyone actually believed Trump would win re-election.

Not one poster took the bet.

Lol at Virginia flipping back to red. I've been living here my whole life and watched the entire political landscape change from red to blue. Its actually really crazy like night and day. I'd bet $50.00 that Virginia stays blue if Sanders was running.

(I'm a conservative too.)

Fairfax, Loudoun, and Prince William county make up nearly a quarter of the state population and are liberal strongholds. The rest of the state is still red. Hillary only one a dozen counties.

Do you live in VA? Norfolk, Virginia Beach, and Richmond. All liberal as fuck. Obama won it 2x and so did HRC.

Danville and Martinsville too.

She was more popular at the time and isn't an independent socialist making pretend to be a democrat.
Well, we will possibly get a chance to test your theory in 2019. Of course, assuming that Bernie is still alive and kicking. Every time I see that man, it’s like I’m looking at my late grandfather puttering around. He can’t have long left in the public arena.

It's not exactly the same thing now. Bernie is way more well known now.

If he can keep gaffes down I like Bidens chances

I don't understand how you can call Bernie a socialist but not Warren. They agree in nearly all issues from I have seen. Neither is really a socialist but are democratic socialists like in Scandinavia. I would call the progressives too. Bernie runs as an Independent because he believes that the party is beholden to the wishes of the wealthy and corporations. But he has ran with dems for years and sided with them over many issues against Republicans.

I would really like to see either win though. I just don't understand the animosity when they have such a similar platform and agree on so many issues.

I call Bernie an independent socialist because he calls himself an independent socialist. Warren at least runs as a Democrat and always has run as a Democrat.

IMO, what Bernie did to the DNC was just about as shitty as what he did to them. He spent his entire career as an independent then suddenly decides one year he'll run as a Democrat and hijack all their resources and effort, and even when defeat was staring him straight in the face he held on longer than even Clinton did against Obama when Clinton did better against Obama than Bernie did against Clinton. He unnecessarily split the focus for the Dems an incredibly critical election at an incredibly critical time.
