At what age is an MMA fighter at their peak?

Depends on the weight class

The lighter the weight, the younger the peak due to reflex deterioration. Also if you got a fighter like Roy Jones Jnr or Anderson Silva who relies on their relfexes/speed, they are going to decline much more rapidly once they start to fade compared to someone like Maia.

Old grappler = long ass career

Tiny striker = short ass career

Mcgregors downfall will be sad, he is a reflex counter puncher through and through.

I would think the optimal age is around 28-33 but it most likely depends on wear and tear and so.

Anderson was 28 when he was losing to Daiju Takase.

On the flip side he was 34 when he blew out Forrest Griffin in one round.

Anyone who says 31 is wrong, I'm 31 and i've been on a decline physically since around 27, I feel like dogshit without mk677 or peptides haha.

Early to mid thirties.
Imagine sage northcutt with 15 more years of training.

Depends on the style also, I like Perry and I know for a fact he will become world champion. But I also think his style might burn him out earlier so he will have a shorter carrer/earlier peak.

Impossible to tell when many fighters have been juicing forever. The samples have been tainted, so to speak.

I would generally go with early 30's.

Around 27-32 you should have a strong mix of athleticism, intelligence and experience.

In practice it varies a ton though.

Its different for every fighter, some peak sooner than others. Some fighters bloom in their mid 40's like Randy Couture, I'm sure if USADA existed back when Randy was on top of his game, he wouldn't have the legacy like he has today.

Most athletes peak in the late 20s/very early 30s, all else equal. At least in the ball sports, it's probably the set of ages that best captures physical advantages with skill and experience advantages.

IIRC, there has been a major scientific study on this I think, at least in the ball sports.

There is no average. Depends on the individual.

lol there is no exact age that everyone hits their peak at but there is an
average, that is the whole point of averages, when you got a sample of differing numbers but want to determine the mid range of the sample on the whole.

Anyway my guess, when you take Heavyweights into account is probably something like 32, lighter weights peak earlier, heavier weights later.

Depends on the fighter. Most fighters peak in their 30s.

This ^^^ athletes and non athletes age differently genetics, lifestyle, are all factors how one ages we all have a chronological that we go by your Bday comes you're a year older. Then there's your real age which is determined by the factors I listed that is why some fighters can fight past their given age (Yoel Romero) and others are chained to their age.
