Anyone have GERD? (Gastroesophageal reflux disease)

Yep, and it makes me paranoid as hell as the connection between gerd and eventual esophageal cancers is very real.

Take pantoprazole for it

i imagine Fluffers get this often
in seriousness, shit sounds rough man. hope it gets treated/reduces soon.

Medication did nothing for me. Try apple cider vinegar and glutamine.

My ENT Doc told me I had silent reflux. I got prescribed 300mg of Ranitidine (basically a double dosing of Zantac) and told to take it every night. I was also told to elevate my bed so I don't lie flat. All this gave me really bad heartburn in the mornings. I cleaned up a lot of my diet, and it all went away.

Learn what foods trigger it and avoid. Corn and all it's forms (and a few other things) were to blame.

Ive never taken a med for GERD ever, I get it once and a while but I just changed up my diet and started standing up straight and not slouching.

The worst when I had it was lying down, it would come back up while sleeping, Ill sleep slightly elevated now to avoid that, but that was the worst when the reflux happens while lying down.

Soups are the best for people with Gerd, I like also beef stews with carrots and potatoes, because the beef has been broken down and tender making it easier to digest

Also make sure to really chew your food and not rush swallow, I used to rush swallow but not I chew it like a horse to break it down so its easier to digest.

Corn triggers it because the body cant really digest it, basically foods that are hard to digest trigger Reflux and indigestion, Breads do it for me, I can only eat certain pizzas, some places they make their dough too thick and its hard to digest, but Ill eat at 3 pizza places when I want pizza because the dough is light and fluffy and not hard or thick.

nah, my gut is impervious to shit like this.
I coat it with alcohol whenever pos

hm, so far so good.
gut is lush with probiotics, tequila and Pringles.

I see we survive on the same diet..

change your diet, avoid stuffing yourself and always chew your food look a horse to get the enzymes to help digest it, dont rush when you eat and avoid eating hard to digest heavy foods, it helps a lot of people, go look p GERD diet plans

Nothing says house party like a good bowl of bone broth!

I get it but i eat super unhealthy and drink a ton.

Tums ftw

I got the turd gerd. Feels like theres always one in the pipe.

I cant eat before I sleep, my body relaxes and acid shoots up if Im not laying on my left side. Very scary waking up unable to breath because of it.

Mine makes me cough for days on end. Luckily omeprazole works with no side effects (yet)

Does this disease also make it hard to take a deep breath sometimes? If so, I probably have it.

What worked for me was tapering off the medication.

I saw a stomach specialist and recommeded me things to avoid like caffiene, spices..anything that aggravates it.

Yeah, I used to get it daily. I used to vomit bile every morning as well.

It hasn’t been as bad since I moved away from a flight path.

I also lost 20lbs in six months and cut right back on spicy food, citrus drinks and smoothies.

interesting. I've been thinking about relocating my bedroom to the back of the house in order to be farther away from the street noise. Maybe I'll do that this weekend.

I have it. It manifested in chest pain and some reflux. It was so bad for a few months I couldn’t eat and lost 30lbs. Omenprazole finally worked. Now I’m off that and take Zantac before breakfast and dinner. Even with meds, anything buffalo style, or fried hurts me.

A dude at my muay thai gym mentoned this last week. Mentioned he's been on meds for years. Thats alll I got.
