Anderson has a higher striking accuracy AND a higher takedown accuracy than GSP

Silva for sure a more deadly gnp than GSP.

This is where someone will try to claim that holding the guy on the mat for 5 rounds would have been more dominant than knocking him out 12 seconds after the take down.

He also has a higher loss percentage.

Anderson = 78% takedown accuracy
GSP = 74% takedown accuracy

Anderson = 63% striking accuracy
GSP = 53% striking accuracy

The thing I was most surprised by was the fact that there isn't a huge difference in their takedown defense percentage, despite opponents shooting on Anderson far more frequently and desperately because he so dangerous on the feet, plus it was part of their gameplans as well.

Anderson = 69% takedown defense
GSP = 83% takedown defense

Anderson got popped for drug cheating.

GSP will never be in the same class as Andy and Fedor, he just won't. Retiring after the Hendricks fight saved him a ton of embarrassment. Andy and Fedor will always be held in higher regard by long term fans, they took losses because they always pushed to compete even well past their primes. If Andy called it quits after the Bonnar fight he'd be the undisputed GOAT of the UFC. 16-0 record with damn near every record in the book. It's a shame you fools don't appreciate the fighters who actually put it on the line every time out. Never gave in, kept pushing even after suffering career threatening injury(Silva vs Weidman II). GSP has the "Career" edge because he sat on the bench when things got a lil too tough, if he had stayed fighting he'd have a few more losses now. That little decision to retire helped enhance his career ten fold to the fans, the same fans who disrespect the warriors who stayed in the fight.

Where does that statistic come from? Because I honestly don'e remember Anderson ever attempting a takedown in the UFC

Maybe because he was on PEDs..? That's why he has the stats?

These numbers are irrelevant. What is relevant is Anderson was f* awesome to watch, whereas GSP...

You have deduct 50% from Anderson's stats to counter the effect of his dick pills.

Therefore, GSP>Anderson

Things I learned from UFC commentary: Anderson Silva's TDD was second only to Brad Tavares, the fine Hawaiian....
Yes we learned that stat during the Bonnar fight.

So basically you're blaming him for being smart and not rushing back in after or while being injured?

People complain about fighters staying around too long, urging them to retire when they keep stacking losses.

But then you get a guy like GSP who knows he's at the end of his run and realizes that he's not at his best anymore and decides to leave on a good note and the same people complain.

It's like people aren't happy until someone starts losing. But when they start losing people start wishing they would have retired on top.

Make up your damn mind.

Some fans prefer true warriors. Some fans prefer true cherry pickers. I prefer the former.
