Prelims?
Why's he still even in the UFC

I don't mind them having a sort've marquee fight on the prelims as a way to entice fans... that's just fucking good business sense. I just think that Alvarez isn't that guy... he's a main or co-main fighter for me at this stage. They seem to like doing this with Poirier though... his fight with Joe Duffy was a Fight Pass headliner and it was a very fucking enjoyable fight indeed.
Holy shit I know 211 is stacked but surely Cejudo v Jr Pettis should be headlining the prelims and not the former LW champ who only just lost the belt.
Maybe the UFC is punishing Eddie for how much money they have to pay Conor now.
Just looked at the card again and Branch v Jotko should be headlining the prelims with Cejudo v Jr Pettis further down the card IMO

You think he should be main or co-main on a FN card as his standing on this card sort of devalues him? (your despicable viewing of fights by illegal means aside)
For some reason, I'm sure Poirier was on the card before the fight was made official and maybe they were waiting on Alvarez to sign, but could be wrong.
I've been quite complimentary of your input so far but at this stage I'm wondering if you can even fucking read? I said from the beginning I think he's a PPV fighter. Have you not understood that or what?
n regards to my 'despicable' viewing of certain fights, I'd reference your previous point where you said you 'couldn't bebothered' streaming Bellator events. You made it perfectly clear it wasn't a moral issue for you to avoid fights that weren't very easy to view legally.
Poirier might've been on the card already, you could be right there. Regardless, you've just turned out to be a cunt I can't be arsed dealing with anymore. Thanks for your first 2 posts, I enjoyed them. God speed and whatnot.
He is not a huge needle mover but to say he isn't a draw at all is wrong.
Conor does that to people.yeah I did a double take when I first saw that. but i guess that's what happens when you look so bad in your last fight that it has some people wondering if you threw it.
Not just lost his belt but HEADLINED the biggest card in history! Not to sure truth be told I just found it strange a champ who lost his belt a couple of months ago is on the Prelims.
It seems a little disrespectful to Eddie that he won't get as much exposure as a guy that got stopped in seconds when he challenged for the title.
I know, and I appreciate that. But I made the point earlier, that his period in the UFC and the way his fights have gone hasn't being exactly a fan friendly type of style or similar to that of his fights with Chandler. I enjoy watching certain wrestlers and the likes of Maia and Nelson for example, but Alvarez hasn't had that type of fight he had with Chandler with anyone in the UFC.
I don't want to sound like I'm bashing him - but his fights with Melendez and Pettis weren't that great in my eyes. dos Anjos he just starched and could have finished him anyway he wanted to he was that wobbled. I think he's being a bit more conservative and is living off his fights from the past (thus far)
I'd go along with him being on the PPV card opener, but like I said, I don't think his placing as the last fight on FX is that big a deal.
Brah, I was being sarcastic.
My bad. I wasn't ripping into you for watching fights elsewhere.
Anyway, if he was on the Fight Pass portion of the card, that'd raise a few eyebrows, but I still don't think where he is on the card is that big of a deal.
