I vividly remember the sound those last five thuds Jones got on DC made as his head was pinned against the canvas, reminds me of the elbow Rockhold got on Machida at the end of the first

I don't respect Jones but he is clearly a better fighter than DC. DC loss had nothing to do with steroids.

Then why did Jones take them?

First, it's not a situation where DC had some fans and he lost them when he cried. He never had those fans (or trolls, whatever). The users who laughed at the crying gif were:
- guys who don't like him;
- Jones' fans;
- guys who really would laugh about anything (Rashad's brain damage photo or anything else);

I also laughed when I saw a picture with with DC's crying head over that retard with "Let me bang bro".

Second, I don't think DC really cares about stuff like sherdog, forums, gifs with him crying, strangers on the internet mocking him. The man is rich and has an impressive record.

You are right. You cannot overturn the brain trauma and the humiliation. You can give back his belt, but that is not enough. Stuff like this happen, when a fighter is caugh with steroids after the fight. If he won, then the situation is bad. If he lost, then it's ok for the winner because he won over a juiced fighter.

Two mentions here:

I really can't believe there are people who still say that steroids don't help you / don't win the fight for you or even that they don't give you an advantage. People like these have no idea how helpful steroids can be. From muscle mass to fat loss, from endurance to many other stuff, they can help you greatly.

I don't understand the thing with Turinabol. It's a steroid that must be used for weeks to have effect. And Jones was tested before the fight. I guess. The results were negative. I guess. Did UFC know about this and manipulated the results? Imagine that a week before the fight would have been cancelled. All those money gone... I am not a conspiracy theorist, it's just something fishy here. Why would he take Turinabol a few days before the fight? It's used to preserve muscular mass during a caloric deficit. Unlike Dianabol it gives you lean muscle mass without all the puffiness and the water retention and the bitch tits. Also, when administered, it will increase rapidly the force.

There's a difference In humor: laughing with a light heart, and laughing AT someone- putting them down, mocking them, ridiculing them... etc

I dont reckon DC cares what specific fans think of him, but I'm certain he cares what fans generally think of him... he's a light hearted, good guy... the thing with being a good guy, or being a class act... is that you eventually end up caring about what people think of you. Think about it, you're doing what seemingly is the right thing to do, and people are booing you for it. Fan-comments got to Aldo (pulling out etc), it got to GSP (not finishing fights)... etc. It ended up making these guys change for good... losing their 'passion' for the sport. Aldo said he was done, and would take a dive... GSP vacated the belt...

Money only speaks so much. When you do what is right, and the fans turn on you, the company turns on ya... it hurts to a deep level.

As for the steroid talks, I'm no expert. I've never taken any steroids through my high school and collegiate sports days... and hence have no clue about them beyond the basic online gossip. You'd be better off checking with @dimspace. He's the residential expert on these matters. Most of what I know on the subject comes from his shares.

Never once made fun of DC, always believed that he was the legit 205lb champ. DC is the rightful LHW champ at this point. Sad since Jon was at one point my favorite fighter in the UFC

And yea, you're right about the verbals part. But at the same time, Mark Hunt used that "I don't care he's on steroids" angle with Brock Lesnar, but then after getting overwhelmed in there (and being visibly shocked post-fight when describing Lesnar's size and power)... he still ended up snapping when Lesnar tested positive for masking agents... though I think he has reasonable grounds with the UFC/USADA exempting Brock from the otherwise mandatory 4 months pre-testing before being eligible to fight.

With GSP, it was a combination of many things - he was burning out mentally, the UFC was talking shit about him publicly after he has been a loyal company man never once speaking bad in public about the company... there were rumors from before the final fight, that GSP would 'retire' and hence Rogan pressed the action post-fight, after GSP defeated Hendricks, despite GSP not necessarily seeming to want to bring it up. GSP did make it clear that he wanted some time off, didn't say he was retiring... but then Dana White threw GSP under the bus- lied about him being at the hospital, took GSP's belt when GSP was in the shower... tried to use his security team to keep GSP from the press conference... etc etc, so things became hostile.

Add to that, they weren't exactly eager to sign GSP back to a new deal. According to GSP he's been pushing to come back since the start of last year, but negotiations took a long time, and eventually hit a dead end after the UFC sold to WME.

Anyways, glad to finally have GSP back this year. Been waiting a long, long time.

DC ate a bat to the face and a dozen more shots. Then he got the worst-timed interview in sports history, where his brain was off and his heart talked to us. In that moment, a champion appeared, and DC's heart told us he was a man without his brain having to figure out how to say it.
