I do think this is interesting, should they do away with event numbers or do you like it the way it is?

To me this fact takes some appeal or luster out of the milestone.

They used to have catchy names for each event, like UFC 'collision!' or UFC 'damage'! or 'judgement day'

Try doing that 363 times. I think the numbers are fine

The numbering system is mostly for hype, but it is also a more effective tool for referencing events. "Miesha's best performance was against Nunes at UFC 200." "Miesha's best performance was against Nunes at UFC: Jones vs. Cormier II."

I wish they had just stuck with the numbering for every event. It would be easier to keep track of the history. It all went to shit when they started counting "fight nights" as separate things. Oh well

I agree with you and thank you for not killing my thread Mr. Mod :)

I use to like the named events but I'm fine with giving the fighters more notoriety by having there names attached to the event. Pride had some badass names.

I think what really did the ufc names in was ufc 76 knockout, which was billed as a knockout fest only every fight but 2 on the card went to a dec. The only two finishes being submissions
