Is it officially dead? Has Dana said anything recent about it? I know at one point he said boxing is to fucked up behind the scenes basically.

If they could promote legit boxers the way they do their UFC fighters I think it would be amazing. Realistically I know it probably wont happen. I would watch TUF but with boxers tho to mix it up lol.

Captian obvious
Guys like Askren and Woodley would still be fighting for Zuffa/WME if Zuffa Boxing wasn't dead. Dana and WME screwed the pooch, on that endeaver (pun intended)

They already did that with The Contender.

Basically a load of journeyman/bums outside of 2 or 3 guys.

It's why it would never work in Boxing.

with the era of freak boxing this is the time for Zuffa Boxing. Dana and his investors should go full balls on it.

It fell apart couple years ago. I don't think the real bosses at WME-IMG want to spend any more money right now on some Dana White vanity project. Dana talked about some mysterious big name boxing promoter being a partner but nothing ever happened to it.

Overall it would be a cannibal product to the main brand for maybe 1 or 2 big marquee fights. I can see why it was dropped for business reasons.

Dana's on the new Teddy Atlas podcast talking about it. Short answer: it's a standard Dana White "We'll see what happens."

I agree 100% with everything he and Teddy say.
This is close to my heart because I basically switched from mainly a boxing fan to an MMA fan because of all this garbage (mainly the uncompetitive fights the perfect record requirement creates).
I think they could theoretically do something great with boxing but it might not be doable with all the legal rules surrounding boxing.

FWIW My feeling is create a boxing league like the UFC is: disregard all the boxing federations and stuff. Just hire fighters for the league and matchmake in it. They fight for payments and belts the league offers.

But, like I said, thats probably illegal.

I wouldn't be surprised Dana co promotes Zuffa boxing with Showtime for a Jake Paul vs a UFC fighter in 2022 if Dana n him keep beefing

Zuffa world fucking domination baby!!! They’re coming for you Arum! They’re coming for you Hamon!

Zuffa Boxing: Where you'll enjoy an even worse revenue split than the UFC and have an asshat for a promoter who will try to bury you with contracts.

I'm sure boxers were lining up.
They can't do that with boxing contracts. It's not mma. Ali Act will be in play. They can't treat boxers like they do mma fighters.

Yes I was talking about the model Dana would hope for, not reality. That should be obvious with "revenue split".

something cant be dead that was never alive to start with.

how can they screw something they never were doing in the first place.

They should do boxing, but allow kicks, knees, elbows, rasslin', ground grapplin', knees and kicks to a downed opponent, spinning shit, flying shit, and headbutts.

The MMA business model won't work in boxing. That's like Walmart trying to use their employee compensation in venture capitalism.

Would Zuffa Boxing be MMA fighters signed by the UFC, boxing? Would it be Pro Boxers? Would it be Pro or Celeb boxers vs MMA fighters?

Wouldn't mind seeing Nate vs McGregor 3 as a Boxing match in a main event. Could do Nick vs Masvidal as another main event for a card. Max vs Dustin rematch, as a Boxing match works. Frankie vs Yan, Cody vs Aldo, Lando vs Dom, Tai vs Lewis.. all work as Boxing matches. Even Silva vs Paul and Badou Jack vs Paul, could work if that were the angle of Zuffa Boxing.
