Maybe this is still the plan to create belts - but why didn't they start their promotion off with a couple of tournaments to crown champs?

I know the plan is to eventually create their own belt.. maybe I just don't understand how Boxing works.. but what prevented them from doing that out the gate?

If we are just getting random fights with random fighters we don't care about with no stakes, not sure how we are supposed to care?

I am not a devout boxing fan and I have only heard of 1 of their fighters thus far. Everyone else I knew nothing about. If they were at least fighting for something, it would be more interesting television.

I am paying for paramount for the UFC, I want to watch more boxing, at least give us something interesting to watch. Make the stakes higher. Give us something to follow.

well for a start, nobody trusts a guy who thinks "slap fights" is a legit sport, boxing fans in general think MMA is shit and they have a point, the skillsets are really poor because its spread across too many disciplines

also, how much would they have to spend to break contracts that some of these fighters already have with their promoters, they may start to pick up unsigned fighters or free agents, but they are going to have to pay them proper boxing salaries, not the shit White is used t paying

it will become a BKFC type thing, it will have a niche market because of how White promotes things at certain demographics, but it wont go anywhere i suspect, i have been wrong before though, even if they sign Usyk for an Opetaia fight...that is just one fight

I thought they were trying to make it into a UFC style "league" with champs and divisions etc. If they are just doing random fights, why would I follow anything until something major is announced.. seems like a mistake on their end.

I wanted to like this but the first few events have felt lackluster (to me - a non-enthusiast.. not sure if you feel the same)

ive not watched any of them, they look like shit cards with average fights on them

White probably thinks he can promote boxing to the American audience, that is gone, there isnt a big audience in America for boxing anymore, its all about Europe now, when Mayweather retired who was a master promoter...there have been very outside of maybe Alvarez to make any sort of impact in the sport
