Zookeeper Gabe’s Animal Thread Vol 9.0

As much as I love animal video's, I am not a big fan of video's where wild animals are treated like house pets.

I get that certain rescued animals may just end up that way, but imo, any such animals should be a in a zoo or wild life preserve where possible and kept in as close to natural circumstances as possible.

Anyway just my opinion as someone who loves this thread. I am not asking for any change for my preference.

If you cross a purple tang and a yellow tang, you get this. And it could be yours, for just $10k.

$1MM to run down the beach on the shore side.

$10MM to swim across it water side.

Your choice?

True look but look at the size of this tank
He's fucking huge animal that will wreck almost anything else, but still probably somewhere in 2500-3500kg range
Large elephant is 6000-7000

It's like back when we had toquinho being like

Was fucking impressive by himself, but probably perspective would change if you put 210kg Brian Shaw next to him :D
(still crazy Toquinho by leg lock, but this is another story)

Hey @Zookeeper Gabe any idea what this animal is?

For holidays I took the family to BC and for some reason outside the city we were visiting there was a “kangaroo farm” which was more of a preserve I’d say. Anyway, whatever it is the place was full of kangaroos, wallabies and emus. But whatever this little guy is there was just one of him and I couldn’t find a worker there to ask to identify it for me.

Any idea?

@Law Talkin’ Guy that is a Patagonian Mara

Now do you know that for sure or are you just using Google Lens? Because that’s what Google Lens tells me too but I’d like to think you’re worth 10 times your weight in Google Lens apps when it comes to animals.

And if it is a Patagonian whatever then why would they stick it with a bunch of Australian animals? Or just fuck it, why not?

Edit: actually thinking back they did have like two or three capybaras there too, and as far as I know they’re not Australian either, so maybe you’re right about the Mara.

Reason I ask is the Mara was the only animal at this place that my son felt comfortable enough to pet. He didn’t want to go near the kangaroos or wallabies, but the Mara he actually did pet on the head so I was curious what the animal was called.
