When I was out in NM a few years ago I swerved around so many of them on the road at night. Was really cool how you could see their eye shine from so far away

They’re fascinating little critters; I kept one as a pet for a while years ago. When it would crawl under my chin I could feel little claws on the end of its legs digging in for grip. They can jump ridiculous distances when startled as well.

I’m really sensitive to their urticating hairs, so that makes me itchy.

Warthogs. Pretty cute too

Saw them in the Bale Mountains National Park. Very cool.

Today we saw Russet crowned Motmots on our walk, which was cool (we are in Mexico). We are awful at birding, but we love it and I couldn't get past thinking it was a bee eater. I read they are in the same family?
