Weaver who was appointed by new New York City Mayor Mamdani as director for the newly revitalized Mayor’s Office to Protect Tenants, has garnered criticism after old tweets surfaced in which she compared homeownership to "a weapon of white supremacy."

Now, more posts on Facebook have emerged in which she linked gentrification to "structural racism," while claims have circulated that her father, Stewart Weaver, is a landlord.

Weaver’s X profile is currently deactivated. Newsweek contacted Mamdani’s press office for comment by email on Monday morning and Stewart Weaver on Wednesday morning.

Her mother owns a home valued over a million dollars in Tennessee.

Cea Weaver is your typical leftwing hypocrite that can't handle bringing up things she has said.

Like every single one of these wannabe Communist left wing authoritarians, its 'rules for thee but not for me'. Honestly, I'm so glad this stupid bitch is being hauled over the coals like this - imagine someone like this being part of the governing group of your society? Why would anyone want someone as deranged and unstable as this in charge of their lives?

These people are sick, sick fools.

Smh I thought (well hoped) we were done with idiotic beliefs like this.

If I remember correctly she has a 1.5 million dollar house too, I wonder if that version of home ownership is white supremacy.
Yeah, she lives in gentrified as hell park slope, and her mom is a woke professor(obviously) who lives in a $1.5M house in a gentrified neighborhood in Nashville. Hypocrisy and virtue signaling in an attempt to cover up for being exactly what you criticize is basically the rule on the left, it would be way more news worthy if anybody ever found a lefty who actually practiced what they preach.

Anytime there is a comically woke activist, "journalist" or politician, it's a guarantee that they grew up rich and live in an apartment their parents bought for them. This chick, Hasan Piker, Carlos Maza, Emma Vigland, The woker they are, the richer their parents are.

I remember that guy in college doing a starvation protest because he claimed there was a poop swastika. He grew up in a mansion that was worth over ten million dollars and his father was a multi millionaire head of a I believe a train company but the guy acted like he was a victim his entire life.

These woke activist were rich kids Taylor Lorenz is another example with her uncle owning the wayback machine so her past and age are removed from the internet.

Poor vetting by Mamdani administration. She should do the right thing and decline the nomination. Or be fired.

The hypocritical stuff is just the Post being, well, hypocritical. The logical outcome of their position is that people from middle or upper class families cannot advocate for poor people. It is a silly argument that nevertheless always seems to work.

I believe I know what she is saying and it is a stretch, to put it very lightly.
What do you think her point is?
that real estate development and investment has long been used as a tool of dividing neighborhoods and, on a larger scale, entire towns by race. now it's used more as a tool of class segregation, but considering the current economic disparities between races, even the class segregation now functions as a quasi-race segregator.

long gone are the days of municipal redlining, now an investment firm or a billionaire looking to stash a few hundred million does that job.
