Weili Zhang is Concerned about Joanna Jedrzejczyk’s Weight Cut After ‘Plastic Surgery’

We’re just a few days away from Weili Zhang’s title defense opposite former Strawweight queen Joanna Jedrzejczyk. The bout is scheduled to go down at UFC 248 this Saturday (March 7, 2020) at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.

However, less than a week after Deiveson Figueiredo missed weight for his Flyweight title shot, Zhang has concerns of finding herself in a similar situation, per Las Vegas Review Journal’s Adam Hill.

Though she did make weight for that bout, she was above the championship limit, and there was a great deal of questioning her ability to make the cut in the final few days before weigh-ins.

why is joanna concerned about her boob size? shouldn't she be concerned with her fighting ability and winning fights? this seems to be following along the PVZ way...she's more concerned with her instagram followers. I really hope Zhang ko's her and ends her career....

It's not a nasty comment. After all remember JJ started with the gas mask thing and that was a nasty jab at Zhang with the coronavirus thing. I'm looking forward to this fight as there is some legit heat between them.

I think zhang is going to come after joanna like someone on a crack fueled rage....I don't see this fight going very long at all now...I'm more convinced now than ever, that this is going to be a one sided beat down of epic proportions....

I hear guys saying that and Joanna does throw volume at speed.

Problem is that there are no KO punches or power punches among them - at least not the type that stop a beast like Weili from moving forward. I say she walks through Joanna's offense and gets in her face and with her speed and viciousness I'm not sure there is much Joanna can do to stop her.

Joanna's only hope is to make Weili fear closing the distance and I don't see that she has the power to do that. I think Weili mauls her and rocks her jaw, takes her down and ground and pounds her or else submits her.

That said, this is fighting and anything is possible and and you could also be 100% right. I just hope not

Yeah, I'm lost on why it's a nasty comment. I saw threads on Sherdog about this before and never found them "nasty". Just some banter and also a possible issue when you think about it....

Based on what exactly?

I mean a far superior striker in Valentina didn't "finish Joanna easily" nor has anyone else so I'm curious how you see Weili doing it.

Would love too hear your analysis and breakdown of this match up that lead you too that conclusion.

I mean I could just as easily say "Joanna finishes her easily". But without explaining why I believe this is the most likely result it would be pointless since it makes it look like I'm just saying what I hope happens based on who I like more or just repeating word for word what seems too be the most popular comment at the moment without ever actually being backed up with a breakdown of their styles too support why.

valentina is a counter striker...she waits. and she's not really a finisher..for the most part....she has some ko's yes, but she's mostly a decision machine. zhang has mostly stoppages..and hits far harder than valentina....I'm predicting right here and now, that zhang will stop joanna....then again, I'm usually wrong...but I still feel zhang is going to crush joanna.

Edit: actually, valentina, after checking her record, has quite a few stoppages...almost 50-50...in her last 10 fights, she's gone the distance 6x...so that's 4 stoppages...that's pretty good....but zhang just hits that much harder and is super aggressive....I think that is why zhang will stop joanna.
