Fabricating allegories is pretending the movie is deeper than it is. Teachers are not blamed for mass shootings. You are conflating parallels with allegories. I do have a hate boner for crappy movies yes you got me. This is just a goofy horror/comedy. Giving it deeper meaning is an insult to film making.
Lol at "fabricating allegories"

Yeah, teachers never get blamed, even though that happened at Uvalde.
No but I started browsing the news on my tablet about 45min in.
Ah yes, man who didn't pay attention for half of the movie is convinced movie is terrible despite most people thinking it was pretty good.

Everyone is wrong, you are the only tastemaker. Yup yup.

So you think because 1 teacher got blamed in history that means its a good allegory? lol. You can think the movie was good but the allegory stuff is rubbish. Its like claiming Home Alone is an allegory for US Border Security.

Like I said, blame toward officials and survivors is common after mass shootings. The movie explores guilt and trauma and how people process it in a small community.

If you don't like it or see it, more power to you. The movie wasn't for you.

I'm curious, why do you think there was a huge gun in the sky randomly during the movie?

you trying to act like the smartest guy in the room while refuting the blatantly obvious is certainly a choice

I heard that weapon Jordan Peele wanted this

Glad that racist never got it

Because Cregger named the movie weapons and needed some sort of connection in there. That's how hamfisted this dude is. The same reason he had a character refer to the zombie head master as a Weapon. Are you going to tell me that's also related to the school shooter allegory? This whole movie is just slapping a bunch of stuff together pretending its high level film making,. Why did the kids turn on the witch and rip her apart? It was just random.

I think its the opposite. The people pretending to see some hidden meaning in this crap are the ones acting smart. There ain't nothing there trust me. A movie like Get Out, had legit great allegory in there but not this.

jesus dude, you clearly weren’t paying attention

Why did the gun appear over the house then? Don't just say, its because of the school shooting allegory. That still does not explain how or why a friggin gun just appears over the house.

your first dream sequence? here you go:
A dream sequence is a storytelling device used in film and literature where the narrative shifts to portray the protagonist's dreams or subconscious thoughts. This technique often employs surreal visuals and non-linear storytelling to explore the character's inner conflicts, desires, or fears, enhancing the emotional depth of the narrative.
hope this helps.

Why did the character dream of a rifle over the house?

can’t say i’m surprised Jordan Peele lives rent free in your head
Mentality of a 14 year old Conor McGregor fan boy

You just absolute dine out on making a show of yourself

Not surprised you're pro prejudice when it's the modern far left approved prejudice ;)

Henry has an extensive history of trying to act smart on this forum whilst continually demonstrating he has a very low IQ. It's hilarious to watch him flounder around

Also, don't mention any modern entertainment might not be good as that super triggers him

I watched Weapons last night, liked it a whole lot more than I thought I would because I frickin' hated Barbarians so I was expecting to not like this also but it delivered imo

They did a good job of ratcheting up the anxious tension in the first half as you were trying to figure out what was going on and then kept it interesting as they started peeling back the layers of that rotten onion in the second half

Solid acting, no one was terrible, no one was amazing the chick that played Tennyfer in Parks And Rec had a small part in this one and, boy oh by, she has thickened up nicely

Toby Huss had a small role in here too, I am a mark for him so I always enjoy seeing him pop up unexpectedly in movies

The big blowoff at the end was solid and chaotic as fuck, much better than the stupid fucking Barbarian nonsense, dont know if the comedy spots with the crystal meth tweaker was intentional or unintentional but it was hilarious

So many of these recent horror flicks blow the big reveal and make the monster so buffoonish that it fucks up the movie(Smile, Barbarians) but this one stuck the landing imo, I legit hate that evil bitch

A couple things that didnt make sense but nothing major

All in all, a very solid pseudo-Hitchcock creepy psychological thriller that ole Pete enjoyed very much, I liked it so much that it kept me up way past my old man 8 o'clock bedtime cause I was riveted!

6.7 Thumbs Up Outta 7

^Its not a hard movie to figure out, even with filling in blanks on its own.

But the rifle appearing over the house meant.....what?
