Zabit Magomedsharipov's coach, Mansur Uchakaev, explained why the Russian fighter was not interested in fighting the Korean Zombie, and also told how the disqualification of Yair Rodriguez would affect their future plans.

Looks like Zabit's coach haven't heard about KZ in two years. KZ hasn't lost two in a row. He might have no idea that KZ already bounced back with 2 first round KO's (vs Moicano and Edgar) before losing to Ortega. His coach prolly still think that KZ's last fight was against Yair, lol.

And in my interpretation, they want Zabit's next fight to be a 5 rounder so he can earn a title shot, and they believe a 3 rounder won't give him that, and they want a different opponent coz his coach isn't updated on what's going on with some of the other contenders in the division like KZ.

Yep but Yair is suspended until July of 2021, and with 60 cuts coming, might be on the verge of getting release. Zabit should move on

I think he wants to be next in line for the Volk/Ortega winner. Hate to say it but he's starting to act entitled at this point

But like that fight hasn't even been booked yet has it? And then depends how long the winner needs to recover from that fight, We could be talking 2022 worst case scenario if he's going with that path. In which case many others will by higher in the pecking order simply for activity alone.

I can see his angle , but waiting might not be the best option for a guy who hasn’t fought in more than a year

If Zabit doesn't take this fight he's a moron. What's his gameplan to wait for Yair till the middle of next year, or the loser of Ortega Volk in what July/August? This attitude guarantees he won't be fighting for a title in 2021. The winner of Kattar Max, even if it's Kattar who has a loss to Zabit, will get the next crack at the title after Volk pieces up Ortega. Zabit's going to end up wasting a year and a half plus of his prime.
 
Bad look Zabit.... He hasn't fought for a while, he needs to win something or the division will just him by and he will end up needing to fight someone low anyway.

Edit: It seems he wants to have a 5-round fight with him instead, saying if they give him a 3rounder they are setting up rhetoric for Kattar to fight for the belt because people will complain he didn't have a main event 5rounder and Kattar did. Also that there is a lot of time until the proposed date and he isn't dismissing the challenge completely even at 3 rounds.

It's like a love story. He's in love with Yair, but Yair can't love him back, and he can't move on.

Really? His angle that involves him sitting out for what woud likely end up being a year and half of his prime to wait on Yair, who even before this recent suspension has shown an extreme reluctance to take this fight? Yair's suspended till what end of March, likely wouldn't fight before April/May. If Zabit's manager thinks waiting for Yair is the best option or that Zabit would somehow be next in line for a title shot he's delusional.
 
Sounds like his coach has been reading Sherdog too much. There is no rule you have to fight a 5 rounder to get a title shot, most champs hadn't fought a 5 rounder until their title shot including Volkanovski.
He'd be stupid to turn this one down though, there are absolutely no other fights available that make any sense for him.
