Seeing Punk all herky jerky in there was one of the highlights of the night for me. Especially considering his choice of haircut, with his mop top exentuating any missed low kicks. He looked like he’s been training with the Rothwell who fought Vera and Jim Carrey all camp. Still he’s relatively young in fight years though, wouldn’t deny him a third shot

Punk cannot learn in 2-3 years what a lot of guys have been doing their whole lives. The king of pop took it easy on him.

Something like this:<6>

I truly was expecting him to look much better than in his first fight but his striking, his footwork and his reactions to being hit were horrible.

TONS of heart tho.

It was pretty shit, yeah but the most depressing part about it that Clay Guida looked very similar - same hair issue, same ADHD footwork and also super ineffectual. One guy is supposed to be shit, the other guy is supposed to be at least somewhat decent.

It was embarrassing. If I was duke roufus I wouldn't want my name attached to that. It was pathetic.

I was amused in the first round, bored and annoyed in the third.

Am I the only one tired of seeing people praising his "heart"?

He fought to survive, not win. He made a ton of money for this too, much more than a comparably skilled fighter would. And there are plenty of fighters out there that would have stood up to twice the beating.

If he went out like a lion, sure. But he just sat in there and took a beating with few attempts to make it better.

He was atrocious. You can tell he never played sports in his life, he has no co-ordination or athleticism whatsoever. None. It looked like watching some sloppy, lame-ass WWE fan who'd won a competition to be a UFC fighter for one night only. Which to be fair, is exactly what he is, and it was.

Some of his movement and actions in the fight were downright hilarious.

Gimme my shot Dana!

If he merely wanted to survive he could have tapped at any point.

This is what I keep saying. I don't respect him at all 'for trying' - he's earning $1million for each of these 'tries'. I swear on my family's lives, if I was offered $1million to fight Mike Jackson in the UFC and was given 2-3yrs of unlimited access to train with Roufsport, I would 100% accept the fight. And I certainly wouldn't expect MMA fans to 'respect my heart' when I looked like dogshit on fight night.

Pretty much as expected or maybe better, he never had the striking prowess, most people I know in boxing can get clean shadow boxing going in less than a year , his sht looked like a joke even way later - same w roused, they seem to be particularly bad at it- doesn’t mean they can’t score here and there with their strikes, but it’s pretty ugly

I would have given him the first round, for real.

He rocked Jackson once and got the TD.

Send in every local BJJ black belt or every decent college wrestler that’s just starting MMA.
They would all beat Jackson, from what he showed last night.
Even though he’s 8 feet tall with a 100 inch reach.

Credit to CM punk's heart and having the guts to step in the cage, but his striking look very awkward and sloppy, it reminded me of someone who just took up mma last week. Watching the fight last night I thought what has Brooks been doing for the last 2/3 years?

Either he's a very slow learner or he has very little combat inclination, or maybe both. Either way he needs to hang em up

Cm punk’s lanky wanky style isn’t only ugly aesthetically with all the hopping around, wiry strikes and uncoordinated movement but it also has proven to be so ineffective, he wouldn’t be able to punch his way out of a wet paper bag.

He is just an unathletic guy with average genetics.
