They are not a monopoly. In fact, they were investigated for that very thing, and found not to be. And they still pay way more than any other promotion. And those few promotions that could match or even exceed the UFC purses, went out of business because they couldn't manage their finances. We'd all like fighters to get paid more, but it's not as simple as "herp, derp, big bad dana is greedy".

I'm sure Jones is remunerated very fairly and this bout signing is more about him wanting to pick when and where he fights.

UFC 151 wasn't about money.
 
Why should I hope that someone else gets paid an arbitrary amount of money? The obsession with "sticking it to corporations" Sherdoggers have is a tad strange.
 
I support Jones, but I'm in the minority. The guy performs, which is what I value in him. Recently, I've been getting a little bored with his safer style, but he's still the top guy in his weight class, so I can't argue with him. I wish he would go back to beating the brakes off of guys like he did with Bonnar, Shogun, Vera, and Rampage.

I don't like Jones. I think he's a douchebag and a dirty fighter, and I support Gustaffson, Cormier and whoever fights him.

That being said, Jones is a very active champion. Given his resume, it's ridiculous to claim he is ducking anyone. This guy is one of the most skilled fighters in the world, he ain't afraid of nobody. He's probably demanding to be treated with respect and to get the money he deserves. I'm totally pro-Jones when it comes to a fighter vs. company thing.

One doesn't need to be a Jones' fan to recognize he's active, entertaining and worthy of respect. Dana should tone down and give Jones whatever he wants to fight Gustaffson again.
 
Given that people think he's been avoiding Gus since the 1st fight this will only strengthen the idea that he is.

After the 1st fight is given the option to fight Gus again. He decides to fight Glover instead. Then he claims that Gus (and DC) don't deserve a title shot and how they should fight eachother. And now is delaying signing the contract to rematch Gus
 
He already makes more than both of his NFL brothers combined. And he certainly isn't a PPV star like GSP, Brock or Chuck were, nor does he have the intelligence or money making skills like Sonnen. He simply does not have the leverage to negotiate a 'crazy' deal. Maybe if he wasn't beaten up so bad against Gustafsson...but Gus took his aura away.

To increase his value, Jones needs to define himself like Mayweather did when he became 'money'. He's never going to be a star-by-skill-alone like GSP. Despite the alleged 'hate' Jones gets on the internet, his problem is that most people are indifferent to him.
 
i'm a jones fan and hope he fights for what he feels he deserves. having said that, I think unions are garbage. sure, they start off as something decent and noble, but they are corrupted quicker than politicians (well, at the same rate...). they become the bullies, themselves.

the UFC is where it's at, for sure.... but there are other organizations out there. fighters should do their best to protect themselves individually, but I would hate to see the fighters take control of the UFC.

jones, himself, is a very valuable commodity. the UFC would do well without him, but Jones will bring many eyes to any fight of his so I think they'll definitely want to keep him. he's one of the very few, though, and that is a perfect example of how he "deserves more."

I'm all for Jones negotiating to get a better deal. I'm also indifferent to him. He doesn't spark love or hate from me. He's just kind of...there.
 
I support Jones in not re-signing with the UFC. Hell, I support JJ never re-signing with the UFC. Last thing the UFC needs is a champ who doesn't even want to be there and who risks blinding his opponents every fight with blatant fouls.
 
Both the ufc and Jones know that Jones is going to lose his belt. So Jones is over shooting and the Ufc is under shooting. No surprise that there is problems here.

Because he wants Gus to fight DC thus eliminating one contender as well as delaying when he himself has to fight one of the two.

He's also most likely hoping Gus/DC have to fight and he'll get another blown up MW to defend against in the mean time.
