I'm sure the takedown threat had something to do with it, but Usman's striking has gotten so much better that the skill progression is a big part of it. Jorge probably was taking his standup a bit lightly too. It can be all of the above. Regardless, it is a beautiful KO. It's almost like poetry in motion.

All Usman. Masbumdal likes doing that check left hook thing, he got caught before doing the same shit.

I believe that it was a mixed of Masdival thinking Usman would never get the better of striking exchanges and it sounds like the rumors of Usman's knees being completely fucked causing him to abandon his wrestling and focus on striking are true.

Masvidal fades in and out of focus especially when he is fatigued. Usman keeps that focus 100% of the time and he caught Jorge sleeping for a moment and threw that beautiful torpedo straight he has.

That left slap distracted Jorge enough to let Usman quickly step in close enough to left that right go straight threw. That's one thing Usman does so well, following through with his punches.

Combination of both Masvidal never felt Usman was confident to stand and straight swing with him and he was wrong. With the new improved boxing/striking Team Elevation as brought confidence to throw & hurt people, Usman is a problem...

Randleman vs Crocop is classic example of striker getting caught looking out for TDs.

Masbumdal wasn't worried about TD there, he was literally trying to hook off Usman's jab, it's all Usman. And like said beforee, Masbumdal got caught doing the same shit before.

Usman’s striking has gotten better but he’s still very hittable and as he falls in love with his hands and his body breaks down making wrestling harder, this could be dangerous for him.

Jorge tried to bait him into striking with him because he thought it would be an easy path to victory. He took Usman lightly and paid for it.. That shot was crazy too and would have kicked anyone out if it connected.

Usman is an incredible athlete who is looking better every fight.
