it is a free market. there are tons of back yard, local and even regional pro wrestling orgs. there isnt enough market for multiple world/nation wide pro wrestling companies. WCW and others needed to be aquired by WWE because the demand while significant is not massive in scale.

It is actually the best time in 15 years for non-WWE orgs.
Wrestlers are making a great living away from Vince
New Japan, AAA, ROH & various smaller indy's are thriving, while WWE loses 20-25% of viewers a year
