I have seen other MMA fighters do this as well. You dont block a full force head kick with a single arm block.

Lean back, duck, or block with a solid to arm block.

You should compete and show us internet tough guy.

He never expected Gaethje to even attempt that kind of kick. Credit to Gaethje for improving yet again. I thought his improvements were overrated before this fight. I cant deny it anymore. That was all planning and execution.

I thought it would be a dog fight. I didn't expect that kick. The Gaejthe tactic vs Ferguson can be world champion. The guy who fought Khabib and Olivera would get embarrassed by McGregor.

I hope he breaks through as champ.

Pretty sure since Gaethje is known to eat up the legs , and not high kicks... it was the last thing on Poirier's mind.

If Gaethje manages to add great high kicks to his arsenal we’ll be looking at something even more special here, hope he manages to weaponize them, would make his other striking even more effective

I just rewatched it and Dustin blocked the kicks he saw comming the same way. So not a good block. Not just a single arm block but also right in his head. So you were right I gotta say. Not that you're anywhere on Dustin's level but that was a poor block.
