You could argue that OSP is one of Jones' tougher fights in UFC

Jon has had 16 UFC fights and I think only 3 of those were against guys that are clearly tougher match ups for him than OSP. Gus, DC and TRTVitor were all tougher match ups. I understand Glover handled OSP easily but style wise I think Glover has no chance against Jones while OSP's explosive athleticism gives him a better chance to beat Jones than Glover had. As I think about it more, this fight isnt so bad.

Hindsight is 20/20.

I think Jones was -900 against Gus and then the fight started. Don't diminish Jones' wins over Evans or Machida either. Context definitely helps this argument from the other perspective.

I do not think OSP is much of a challenging fight for Jones outside of his physical attributes. Skill for skill, he's very outgunned here.

no......

Ive thought about this and my response is .....nope

He's got a quick, where the F did that come from strong left hand chance. Jones would have to be flash KO'd and hammered for the finish. Don't see OesthP trying to submit him.

OSPs explosive athleticism helps him against Jon but not against Glover?
Say wut, mate?

Glover is a more traditional striker while Jones is more wild so that is a better match up for OSP. Glover is also more likely to wrestle against OSP, which he can't do against Jones. Styles make fights and style wise Glover has nothin for Jones, OSP might.

I feel like OSP is like a B version of Rampage , and Jones had no problems choking him out.

Ya you could argue that if you were delusional zuffa zombie but lets face it OSP is is just ok and the UFC is totally not creative at all like why not bring in some one foreign like Puetz from M1 who is a similar size as Jones and recently beat Tybura who the UFC just signed,it would be a hell of a lot more exciting than watching Jones go to a decision with OSP talk about boring and typical.

This is about as close to a lock as you can get. OSP is very susceptible to good wrestlers and also has a bad has tank. Definitely the worst style you can have going up against a guy like Jones.

Probably right, but Rampage was getting older and fighting less aggressivley at that time.
That's the problem tho. Osp is a b version of the "past his prime" rampage.

Jones is going to take him down and elbow him half to death.

Consider this a warm up fight for Jones to get the rust off.

OSP could shock the world as he is a trained fighter that has power and anything can happen, but ..not likely. Decent warm up fight to get Jones back in there.

Rampage had TDD and was a champ proven at elite levels (prolly why u said B version). I think of OSP as a kind of Jimi Manuwa grade fighter; athletic, powerful but no fighting base. Paired against someone equally athletic yet having a fighting base and more skill, the outcome is inevitable. Anything can happen, but I think this match up is grade a shite, and that is owing to how damn good Jones is.

OSP is getting smashed.

If it's there, OSP will jump on a sub

LHW is shallower than a toddlers pool in a drought. Better this fight than another boring rematch.
