There is no such thing as a #1 contender. The UFC belts are for entertainment purposes only and they have said so more than once. This is not a sport, its entertainment. Only marks buy into the whole #1 contender thing.

The problem with the UFC is that it's a sanctioning body AND a promoter at the same time. That automatically makes things a little iffy. On top of that you have the eggheads who recently purchased the company, and these people have it abundantly clear that they're in the entertainment and not the sports industry. A fact that obviously sucks both for fans and contenders like Yoel Romero.

Seriously, I wish there was some way he could sue. They're making a mockery of the whole thing with what they're up to right now, which in the long run can't be good for anyone.

If it's a money & ego thing, then, sure, sue all you want.

If he primarily cares about his body of work, though, and being the best fighter in the world, then he should just fight the best competition available (which Bisping doesn't seem to be for these guys) and call out Rhold, Moose or Jacare again. Fights that he'd have to take anyway, if he was the champ. So just clear it out in advance.

This is why need the Ali Act is needed for the UFC. The UFC wouldn't be allowed to even make GSP/Bisping. Yoel would get the title shot and Jacare would be next in line. GSP would literally have to work his way up through the division to get a shot just as he should.

All of these fighter getting screwed should make it priority one to to work on getting the Ali Act in MMA.

So MMA did not start out as catch/professional wrestlers taking on other arts in mixed rules fights? You know like Milo Savage and Judo Gene in the 1960's? Or when Inoki fought Ali in the 1970's? The very first MMA orgs (pancrase) were just professional wrestlers doing shoots. TUF only succeed because it followed the WWE/F show and Lorenzo admitted they took every idea they had from WWE/F. Hell catch wrestlers in the 1800's were the original MMA guys before they went professional with worked matches. This has never been a sport and never will be its entertainment in a sports setting. Sports have internationally accepted rules, actual amateur training programs at the primary and collegiate levels along with independent sanctioning bodies.
