Said he had his moment in Whittaker fight and didn't use it, fought for dec. Now he makes moments to finish the fight. It explains perfectly his blitz style of fighting against Rockhold. He might patiently wait and play around, but he is always looking for a moment to go after a finish and if it doesn't look like it will come, fall back and wait for his moment again. Not one pot shotting, but legit pushing it like vs Rockhold. I believe it was the biggest game modification he did.

The thing is, if he does go for the kill and doesn't finish Whittaker, then he will have wasted a lot of energy.

In the first fight, Romero spent a bunch of energy trying to take Whittaker down.
 
Dude is a savage. Awesome fight. Rooting for Whittaker but crazy 3rd round KO from nowhere by Yoel would be awesome too.

Yeah, he can try stand in front of whittaker for minutes without action like he did rockhold, guarantee you he gets cracked early and often.
 
Romero is a fucking treat to watch. I hope he takes the belt. Whittaker is awesome and he has a bright future even if he loses this one. I just want Romero as champ for his last few fights.
 
One thing which he definitely has improved since his last fight with Robert is his english.
 
The honest problem is Whittaker's youth. Yoel might have these crazy live training sessions and look like a beast but truth is the guy is 40. He can't match bobby's output. He'll get gun shy when it comes down to it again because he doesn't have the reserves to waste, Whittaker does. Plain and simple. Sucks as yoel is a great heel in ways Covington could only dream. The guy can sell but this is Robert's time
 
Can’t wait. That flurry he had against rockhold in round 2 of their fight was aggressive. He needs those bursts in this rematch but he also needs to be carefull to not get countered.
 
cant wait for romero to get that stap.

i like robbie and its cool having an awesome aussie fighter to root for. but romero is my boiii. and i really hope he gets it done! with a nice knock out.

one counter with a td, one oblique kick, one jab, and Whittaker lets Yoel rest like all these pace pushers that tried before him in Luke Chris Kennedy Brunson Jacare Machida.
 
Not that he can't finish Teh KnuckleZ, but having an agro game plan vs a sniper karate fighter is a terrible fucking idea. There are guys you can do that versus, like sloppy boxing Rockhold, but against snipers like WB, Conor or Bobby, it is a bad idea. Unless Bobby comes in and shows serious rust, I just can't imagine the 40 year old fairing much better against the 26 year old (?), who is ridiculously well rounded. Luke also sucks since he let AKA, so a win versus him isn't as lofty as it was when Luke beat Weidman.

I don't get the love for Romero. He has been busted for roids, was involved in stoolgate, watergate, missed weight in his last fight and is just a dirty fucking fighter. Sherdog had some weird ass double standards where they will support certain cheaters (Jones/Romero) and want to crucify others (Cyborg). I guarantee you if Romero was some fat ass pasty white dude, he would be loathed

He was cleared of any wrong doing from USADA. And it was fucking Tim Kennedy who should have been DQ for grabbing Yoel's glove and almost ending the fight with shots after shots that should have all been illegal. Yoel should have been given at least 5 more minites to recover. Many fighters have missed weight, it was his first fucking time without a full camp, no big deal at all. He is a fucking awesome fighter and great human being. Piss off hater.

It'll be fun fight if he used his new style (vs Rockhold) against Whitaker this time around.
 
Not quite sure what Yoel's talking about here.
Just watched the fight again last night.
Whitaker shut him down...gassed him....and won.
When has Yoel ever tried to outpoint an opponent?
