Yoel Romero... 'watergate'

He is the ideal matchup of the 4 guys in contention. Bisping can take a beating and will easily out cardio him.

Weidman poked him in the eye and Yamasaki told him to continue.

Weidman was the cheater.

Yes, he was being an asshole. He knew he would either:

a) get dried off by the referee and enjoy a few extra seconds of rest; or
b) not get dried off and enjoy the cooling benefits as well as being extra slippery.

If you ain't cheatin' you ain't tryin'.

The water had zero impact on the outcome of the fight, but if I had to guess why he poured it all over himself it was to buy more time between the rounds because he knew he'd be wiped down.

I don't want to be accused of fighter bashing, so I won't say what I really think. I can say though, that if Romero takes the strap, there will be a general feeling of illegitimacy.

Was the cut as bad as it looked or did Chris' hair make it look worse. I can't find a pic.
Can't be worse than what Weidman did to Munoz..

Yoel always cheats like crazy but it had absolutely nothing to do with him beating Chris

Between the first and second round, big Yoel poured water all over himself.

Super Mario Yamasaki caught him in the act, then gave him a good drying off with a towel. He really rubbed him down.

Was Yoel trying to 'cheat' ? Was this another controversy in a similar vein to 'stoolgate' or 'tainted supplements' ? Was he trying to make himself slippery to negate Weidmans wrestling ?

Or was it nothing on towards ?

Discuss.

Nothing untoward. Yoel is allowed a little leeway so he can do SUPERHUMAN FUCKING THINGS TO ENTERTAIN US.

ok?

Well...this is not the first time Yoel has done shit like this...there will be no shock at all if he test's positive again either.

Romero clearly poured water on himself to buy himself time.

Ironically, this transparent attempt to get more time (not to mention his sketchy history) is no doubt why Yamasaki brushed off the eye poke and forced him to continue. Classic "boy who cried wolf" scenario. Don't expect Romero to get any leniency with the refs from now on. His reputation is public knowledge now.
