Yoel missed weight in 2 title fights, and Dana suggested that he would like to see Romero at 205 in the UFC 225 post fight press conference.

That being said, how do you think the Soldier of God would do against the following Light Heavyweights?
Does he have what it takes to be a contender at LHW?

1. Daniel Cormier
2. Alexander Gustaffson
3. Glover Texiera
4. Volkan Oezdemir
5. Jan Blachowicz
*Bonus* Jon Jones

2. Loses
3. Wins
4. Wins
5. Wins
Bonus: Gets destroyed.

I am confident Shogun would KO him

I think he would be an instant top 3 fighter and could beat anyone in that division if he lands clean.

I'd have NO problem whatsoever with him fighting Gus for an interim title or #1 contender (which seem to be the same thing lately) and then fight DC if he wins and if DC comes back to LHW (Which I am not certain he will).

I wouldn't be shocked if DC retires after the Stipe fight. He said he is 100% retiring by 40 and he is 39. I think he turns 40 in March which means at most DC has 1 MAYBE 2 fights left after Stipe.

Who knows if Jones will be back any time soon, but even if he is, he isn't champ and seems more interested in fighting Brock which would be a huge money fight.

I would rather see Yoel get a chance at a 205 belt (interim or regular) than see a 3rd fight in a row against the same opponent, and I don't think fighting Whittaker is good for either of those men's health. Let's see some fresh matchups!!

Cormier I have doubts, the others I Don't.

He lands clean, every fight, and his power is tremendous. Gus & Glover ain't taking that. And his wrestling pushes him over everyone else.

He'd destroy everyone outside the top 3

DC and Gus are tough fights
Jones is the only one he CAN'T beat tho

Luckily for him...
Jones might be gone for a while
DC is retiring before March 2019, might never come back to 205 if he beats Stipe tho
Gus can't stay healthy

DC: Has a chance of KO'ing him but I think DC with his size can outwrestle him, Yoel doesn't have the best TDD
Gus: I think Gus is too long and too tall, but Romero could surprise me
Glover: Rip Glover
Volkan: Unless he uses his one punch power Romero can beat him
Jan: Since when is Jan top 5 is this really how weak LHW is? Romero easily

Jones: Hahahahhahahahhaha. No.

I think Romero can realistically beat anyone at LHW. he's a ridiculously good counter puncher who's punches come lightning quick and from awkward angles. He uses rhythym disruption well. I would not be surprised if he starched anyone in the top 5.

Would have a tough fight against Gus and Cormier, but he definitely could beat them. Anyone else he beats consistently.
Bonus: Jones beats him fairly easily.

He could beat any of them. DC would beat him, Gus would be a 50/50 fight IMO. I'd love to see him move up, The only person who doesn't want to see Romero at 205 is Luke Rockhold.

Edit: I wasn't even including Jon Jones in any of this. He doesn't exist

Beats them all, until he fights for the title and misses weight

He beat all top 5.
The only one that may able to beat Romero is gus

I'd say yoel is a tough match for anyone at LHW he's like a smaller rumble. If he hits clean it's all over, but size, age and skill he will lose some times too.

Jones would pick Yoel apart, probably break his knees and eyeballs. Yoel isn’t catching Jon with anything lol

It's laughable to think that Romero would be a force at LHW. He started his career at LHW and got slumped when he faced someone decent:

At just 5-foot-10, he’d certainly be one of the shortest elite-level light heavyweights in the world. But while Romero believes he could potentially drop down a division, he said he feels most comfortable at 205 pounds.

“I feel strongest at light heavyweight,” Romero said. “Size doesn’t scare me, but my power should scare them.”

If he moved to MW, it means he could sense that his skillset didn't carryover as well to LHW. In fact, he landed clean on Robert Whitaker a number of times and couldn't put him out. And Romero is a sitting duck if someone doesn't fear his power. I know he has six pack abs and is a scary looking dude, but he'd get starched by the top 5 and would struggle with 6 through 10.
