that was still just a competitive spar, and looks like around the start of the spar.... as both look like they are still getting there timing down imo

You're the one who is claiming things about it--for example--that it's a warmup, "feeler" round.

Conor was trying to get his timing. That seems right.

Van Heerden looked like he didn't have much difficulty getting into rhythm.

Conor's movement and stalking, loopy style kind of reminds me of Hearns. Hearns had a great jab, though, while Conor's is nonexistent. I think what he does is very good in an mma context, but he's easily led into dead space by a good boxer with footwork.
